What was your first job & how much did you make?

My first job was helping out in a restaurant in 1982. I was 12 years old and making $2.00 an hour sweeping floors, washing dishes and eating all the free food I could stomach.

I worked at 20 different companies in almost every field before spending almost 17 years at my last employer. I resigned in 2008.

12 years old or so, worked at this summer vacation lake park where we lived year round. Friend and I made a nickel for each aluminum can we brought in after we got done picking up garbage from around the park.

I worked on some land a guy had painting fence, grubbing yuka plants, and other non-fun jobs while getting paid $5.75/hr I believe.

Helped out a used car lot. Washing cars, putting those nifty stickers on windows, etc. I was paid under the table, but it was like $5 an hour or so.

i was a pharmacy clerk @ sav-on. made ~$4.75/hr doing 5hr shifts part time as a college student. I would be lucky to bring in $90/week and be tired as hell. I think i made that much/hr last year.

First job was at my dad's business, $4.25/hr. Though technically I started "under the table" well before that.

FIRST job, or first on the books, legal job?

FIRST job started when I was 6 or 7 years old. I'd walk dogs for people in my building and they'd give me a quarter or maybe fifty cents if they wre feeling generous.

First legal job was working for the city library making $2.35/hour which was the minimum wage back then.

Farm, $12 an hour, paid via check at the end of the summer..otherwise living/food was paid....was awesome between ages 15-18.

I picked strawberries when I was 14. We were paid by the pound picked. I went a couple times and made ~ $20 or something. The migrants would pick circles around us white kids. I couldn't hang.

My next job was a bag boy @ a grocery store. Made minimum wage which was IIRC 4.65. I was good so they gave me a raise to $4.85. I did that from age 16-18.
