What was your first job & how much did you make?

Except for the chinese part, yes. I was a dishwasher who happened to cook a lot and close the place even though I was 14 and not allowed to by law. I still have a burn scar on my arm where I cought a tray out of the oven.

Then I worked at the community pool next to my house mowing lawns, etc. for $1.75/hr, concessions for $2.10/hr, eventually lifeguard for $2.35/hr. I was ballin'.

My first job was helping out in a restaurant in 1982. I was 12 years old and making $2.00 an hour sweeping floors, washing dishes and eating all the free food I could stomach.

I worked at 20 different companies in almost every field before spending almost 17 years at my last employer. I resigned in 2008.

I worked in the deli at my local supermarket washing dishes. I think I was making around $3-4/hr part time. This was in the early 80s (probably around 83-84).

Sounds like fun. I made the mistake of voluteering to work for one day at what was known as Arlington Stadium for the Texas Rangers in 1981. It was for charity and they worked us like dogs! I was only 11 damnit! D:

Tee starter at a country club when I was 13yo in 1971 worked approx 10hrs per week. It paid minimum wage of $1.60/hr, I graduated to working 35 hours/wk in the golfshop when I turned 16 and by then minimum wage was $2/hr woot!

By the time I left the golf course in 1978 min was up to $2.65/hr, I was a junior in college and took a job as an apprentice at a CPA firm making $4.25/hr, man I thought I was rich!!!! Upon graduating in 1980 I took my first full time accounting job @ $13,600/year or $6.53/hr and then I KNEW I was rich!!!

Quizno's...I think I started when I was 15, right before I got my license. I remember I was excited about being paid slightly more than minimum wage - must have been like $7.00/hr or something.

Actually, I also refereed soccer games starting when I was 12 or so, but I don't really count that. Although the money was better than any other crappy high school job. Started at like $12/game and when I finished it was something like $26/game. It was awesome when they had weekend tournaments and you could do 10 or so games in two days.
