What was your favorite mini-game ever?

I was reading in the other thread about something called triple triad in FF8, which I never played, and it got me thinking about mini-games in general.

I was addicted to Pazaak in KotoR; I don't why. Every time I played KotoR I maxed it out as much as I could. I was really looking forward to playing it in KotoR 2, but found it to be a huge letdown. It wasn't the same.

The swoop racing was ok, but I like gambling better. I used to play the dice game in the Witcher a lot too. My progress always got stalled rolling dice and trying to bang chicks to get the cards. Something about me is very immature.

Compared to Pazaak I thought the gambling in ME was stupid; even that hacking/frogger thing was better. I thought the ones in ME2 were better.

Have there been any mini-games that you found yourself hooked on?

Darts and bowling were kinda fun in GTA IV. I didnt love them, but they were mildly amusing for a round or 2. Roman's comments made them funny as hell.

I cant think of any other mini game I liked even a little.

There was one in Sabotuer in the lower section of the strip club where you had to throw knives at a rotating wheel and every time you missed your character became a little more inebriated that I enjoyed quite a bit haha. Most mini games are pretty tedious though.

Can't really remember any off hand but I always found the mini games in the FF series to be pretty good, better then a lot of "games" that get released on phones and shit now.

I remembered another one I really got into - Blitzball on FF10.

I don't even remember how it went, only that I played it for hours at a time.

I hated the card game in FF8. Big fat fucking waste of time in a game that already wastes your time by making you walk and click EVERYWHERE just to find those fucking spells.

Unfortunately you need the god damn cards so you can eventually get all the good items in the game.

Pazaak was even worse, unfortunately theres no way to grind for money in KOTOR so you have to race and play card games. You'll never be able to afford anything you want otherwise. Again huge waste of time in an otherwise awesome game.

I really liked the Fishing game in Ocarina of Time. I eventually managed to catch that Eel-like creature.

Pazaak was fun. I also really enjoyed the dice game in Witcher 1.

The hacking game in E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy was amazing once you fully learned how to play it.

The ones I hated are: everything in the ME series. Fishing in WoW

Yea, I hate the card games in RPGs. Some of them are fun, but even when they are I hate being forced into playing it WAY more than I want to get good end game items.

I only like them when they're mindless fun.

I got to the guy who asks you to play caravan in FO:NV and thought "cool, another game to play".

But that game seemed too complicated. I don't want to have to find an online tutorial for a mini-game.

At the casinos they have roulette and blackjack and slots.
But those get tedious even when you are winning.

Mario Party bumper balls! :D

Also I loved fishing in Ocarina of Time. Secret lures, special fish, and how it interacted with your boots and your tunic I thought was so cool.

I remember playing this game on SNES a million years ago called 'Legend of the Mystical Ninja', and you could go to an arcade and spend a coin, and as far as I could tell, you could play a fairly complete version of 'Gradius' in there :D

aha : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6ul6Og2Y0s

Damnit, I came in here to post this.

I can't believe they put the first level of gradius in there, omg. Fucking awesome.
