What was your favorite arcade game?

Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition but I also spent a lot of quarters on NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat 1 & 2, TMNT, and Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Missile Command was my all time favorite.

BattleZone
Track & Field. (I was a thumb and ring finger guy. Some cheated and used a pencil.)
Tempest

And pinball...
Gorgar
Silverball Mania

Born in '67, allowance always went to candy and arcade games.

And a side note, I would bet good money that the writers on Chuck were my age. They combined Missile Command and Rush in one episode and I think I blew a nut.
Chuck vs Tom Sawyer

I was around for the classics but I MUCH preferred them at home. Pretty much only cares to spend my arcade money on stuff like NBA Jam, Killer Instinct, Killer Instinct 2, Hydro Thunder, San Francisco Rush 2049, House of the Dead, Crazy Taxi, Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-Move, etc.

Noobs.

Only correct answer is "Lethal Enforcers"

I'm pretty sure the OP was talking about that and not Virtua Cop. There was a wild-west sequel too.

My favorite arcade is one that's totally not arcady as it's a racing sim with a 6 speed H-shifter and realistic feeling pedals w/clutch.

This is the greatest driving cabinet ever made. I was crushed when they closed down the arcade where I went to play it.

The three games I spent the most quarters on:

Gauntlet

gauntlet?!
guess u never mastered it and played for hrs on 1 quarter.
(u need to be wizard for that wipe screen magic, or get lucky as elf with the +magic powerup)

btw- wished gauntlet was released for the pc

the multi-decade owner was forced out in 2012 by a huge rent increase. heard he moved to a Brooklyn location. wonder how it's going?

Ms. Pac man
Elevator Action
Star Wars

I remember back in the day I went to the local bodega with my last quarter to play this and some kid who used to bully me (Dominican kid named Roberto...lol) came up and kept pressing the jump button while I was playing.

I got so frustrated at him doing this I grabbed him by the hair (complete with jheri curls and gel) and slammed his head into the corner of the cabinet, chipping into his head. I mean slammed with all my might.

Hahaha, I remember they beat my ass later on for that (in elementary school, mind you) but I will forever remember that piece of shit crying with wood embedded in his temple. The beating didn't really hurt at all.

It's my favorite arcade story.

10-yard fight
Star Wars
Galaga
Tron
Karate Champ
Star Castle
Ikari Warrior

So many good games back in the day.

When we go to Disney Quest I leave with the high score on Joust and Galaga. So I guess those are my favs based on play time. Wish they had disks of tron; the stand in cabinet

was one of the most immersive games I played bitd.

Forgot about Spy-Hunter & Joust 🙂
So did I. I think Spy-Hunter, just because of the soundtrack that played. Also, to above, yup, Crazy Climber. It's been a few decades, so forgive me for thinking it was a monkey that you made climb. 🙂 And, Qix was fun, though grew boring fairly quickly, once you mastered a strategy (making quick, tiny little boxes that had the effect of drawing a line across part of the screen, capturing the little moving things).

holy.. Gauntlet Coin-op free web version!!! just like in the arcade.

nothing to download:
http://game-oldies.com/play-online/gauntlet-coin-op-arcade#

spacebar = add coin/health
c= potion
b = fire

no idea how to select characters tho.
I could only add coins to warrior.

if someone could figure out wizard or elf, let me know!

Taking the Level 1 short cut to Level 8 hangs the game 🙁

My favorite two games were Black Tiger and (edit)Killer Instinct (SabreWulf).
