I don't understand why some of you stay up for days at a time studying for exams... you need sleep to process information. Staying up for 4 days straight is going to hurt you way more than it will help you. 5-6 hours a night minimum isn't that hard to pull off during finals week, and it will help you a lot more than 5-6 additional hours of studying.

I can't see how anybody can make it past 36 hours without sleep. I can rarely make it to 30 before I start seeing shadows and crap that aren't there and almost literally collapse in my bed. I've only done it for the hell of it and not due to work or studying. I guess some of us can't pass a certain threshold.

i had 6 finals and 6 major papers due

Jebus! Was that continuous, or did you allow yourself cat naps? I did 88 hours straight during finals week fall term last year, I lived off double-shots by starbucks and adderall, it wasn't a good situation heh, but I made it through it no worse for the wear, and slept for almost 24 hours immediately following it. On a related note I haven't slept since 7 am yesterday because I got really strung out for some reason at about 3-5 this morning so I couldn't get any sleep, hopefully I can get some tonight (like from 7 pm to 7 am lol)

continuous. it was crazy. back then i did crazy stuff where sleep or lack of it was concerned.

You've defied medical science and human physiology! What species are you?

Longest for me was 63 hours. Work, class, paper, work, class, crash...

About one week with little one to two hour periods of rest. The reason would be hell week in my army training.

Dunno bout longest.....somewhere over 24, but in one 7 day span about 5 years ago I pulled 6 hours of sleep.

Until I crashed for like 18 hours of sleep, due to my nervous and digestive systems going into shutdown mode.

I literally couldn't eat anymore, couldn't sleep (until body said fvck you). Surviving on beer, aspirin, no-doz, ephedrin, vodka, and mcdonalds food (working 40+ hours that week on top of WAY too much partying).

Don't do that any more, I can tell you that much.

35 hours. 24 straight hours of it was because I was in an ice hockey tournament (7 games). Rough times... don't think I'll be doing that again.

A little over 3 days here working to finish a project last semester.
Have been up for longer with a little help from Tim Leary's friend back in my younger partying days.
