I have to say the cellphone.....and with these new smartphones you have mp3, camera, internet, streaming TV, etc in one handheld.

I would have to disagree with this, especially for me personally. The cellphone has not increased my quality of life at all. I keep it in the center compartment of my car in case of emergency. I'm sure the cell phone is extremely useful for business professionals, traveling salesmen etc., but for your standard person, I'm not sure how useful it is relative to say, the internet.

hmm I'll probably have to agree with this...

10 years ago, getting seperated in say.. a huge theme park would've been a huge problem and a nightmare for anyone. We used to have to set up emergency meeting points, and would always try to travel as a group mainly because of the pain of having to set up meeting points and times if we do decide to seperate. Now, we don't even think about it, just a quick check to make sure our cellphones are on before we split, then we're off.

Being able to contact any member of my family or any of my friends from virtually anywhere anytime defiantely changed my lifestyle. 2 years ago, I cancelled the landline to my apartment in favor of using a cellphone.

That's actually my point. That's not a huge deal at all but it is perceived to be now. If you get lost you go to the emergency meeting place. What happens if someone gets lost and their cell phone runs out of batteries? What happens if it's on vibrate and they don't notice it. What happens if they can't hear the ring? Emergency meeting place FTW. Oh, and of course it changed your lifestyle. I'm just arguing that it's not necessarily for the better (or at least not as much as people perceive it to be).
