MASS11 on a VAX. Before that I used TSO SPF2 and Wylbur on OS/MVS machines but those weren't really Word Processing software.

I forgot the Number on it but it was a Canon Digital type writer. With black ink tapes, floppy drive. Only had 3 types of font lol...No times new Roman :(.

I still have it. Don't know why. Still works too.

I think it was a Commodore 64--we wrote "choose your own" adventure games on it in basic.

Vi! My mom has worked in IT since the 70's (programmer -> project manager - > exec) and despite my father's vehement objections to the contrary, has always said that Unix/linux won't be going away any time soon :D

/edit as far as a more fully functional word processor, probably some variant of word perfect.

I don't remember what it was called, but it was a stand alone unit w/ a small amber screen IIRC

I had this Brother word processor. You could save your files on floppy disks. The monitor was also a built-in amber display. My sister and I used it to do most of our writing when people were still doing their papers in pen or pencil. :D

First word processor was WordPerfect (can't remember the version). First computer I ever used was a TRS-80 Model II (my first computer in fact-well, my brother and I shared it). It didn't have a hard drive or an operating system. I think it had 4k RAM.

OMG, what're the odds.... :D We had a PCjr with that exact same program when I was a kid...

My family had an old Atari, I can't remember the model. The 'keyboard' unit opened up in the back, revealing slots for two cartridges (only one I ever used was for BASIC). Two 5 1/4" floppy drives. I *think* there was a dot-matrix printer, but I might be confusing that with our old IBM PS/2.
