First game I ever was addicted to was pac-man. Before that game, I had no interest in videogames.

For all of you who thought yars Revenge was an original game...
Yars Revenge = Star Castle.

"altered beast" was the only reason i got my sega genesis. turns out tho... the genesis version sucks (arcade version was great). so i got madden 92... was addicted to that for a while.

Oh, yeah...Pirates was truly fabulous on the C-64....

Then came Dungeon Master for the Amiga...

Then the first PC addiction for me was Diablo (I spent 6 years in the military where I didn't get to play video games other than the stand up arcade types....Street Fighter was my fav arcade game).

Yeah, it had that bug in ship/ship combat where if you held the joystick up and held down the button during the screen transition you could get a shot off from the bow (front) of your ship 🙂 Helped me get bigger ships a lot faster 🙂

I used to play my NES a lot, but i was never addicted to any one game. I also was not a very dedicated gamer when I was a kid. My parents had me in a large amount of activities at the time.. I was playing soccer, football, baseball, and basketball. I was rarely home to just play games. now that I think about it, that must have been the reason I always sucked at games compared to my friends...

the first real game I got an addiction to would have been counter-strike and diablo 2. That was because my friends and I had just started our own little weekend long LAN party in eachother's basements. We were pretty much social outcasts at the time, and it was the only thing we had to do. Since it was the only thing we had to do, it was all we did. and, therefore, we all sort of became counter-strike and diablo 2 addicts. oh, we also played a lot of starcraft! Those were good times. good ol' lazy, unhealthy times... hah. it seems like it was just a couple weeks ago when in reality it has been nearly five years. how time flies.

I was wondering what computer or console game you were first addicted to?

For me it would have to be Yars? Revenge on the Atari 2600. I would come home from school and sit down in front of the TV playing this game for at least two hours.

I beat it at least three times.

THAT GAME WAS AWESOME!!!

I have to say my first addictions were simultaneously on the PC. Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Inceptoin and Wasteland.

Final Fantasy VII for PSX, there was one for Sega Genesis but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me.

Phantasy Star II ? That game was so far ahead of its time.

StarFlight. That game rocked!

FINAL FANTASY VII

"Quite possibly the greatest game of all time."

I remember the back of the game case saying that.

Truer words were never spoken.
