Uh...Teresa Heinz is a multi-gagillianaire. 😕
Just like others said here, his wife was very rich when they married. Kerry is oft looked at as using his wife's money to further himself politically.Originally posted by: Semidevil
So when Schaffer asked about the last question(3 great women), Kerry mentioned something about all of them being "married up," and then he said "especially him." Everyone started to laugh at that.....so what so funny? I dont get it.

Kerry ripped Bush apart in that debate. At first I thought Bush was doing pretty good cause Kerry was repeating the same stuff... but it got really really good.

Dream on!
Bush wet his pants wanting out of there so bad!
We both married well; some accuse us both of not being able to speak the language; we both have big biceps - well, two out of three isn't bad - George W Bush comparing himself to Arnold Schwarzenegger

The funny part about Kerry's answer is that he was directly quoting a statement Bush made at a fundraising event.

I wouldn't really expect an original comment or thought out of Kerry. LOL

edit: if I'm not out of there in 10 minutes, send help!

But honestly, neither is worth a tinker's damn in the long run. Both have spending plans that will essentially raise the deficit over the next 10 years by $1.3 trillion.
Both lie and distort facts constantly. Kerry and Bush did just that in this debate. For instance, Bush stated he never said he "was not concerned about bin Laden." Well, GWB DID MAKE such a statement at a March 13, 2002, press conference.
His comment was part of a response to this question from CNN's Kelly Wallace: "Don't you believe that the threat that bin Laden posed won't truly be eliminated until he is found either dead or alive?"
Bush's response: "Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him. ... And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run. I was concerned about him, when he had taken over a country. I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban. But once we set out the policy and started executing the plan, he became -- we shoved him out more and more on the margins."
Then again, Kerry seems to forget a few things, too..........Kerry said 1.6 million jobs were lost under Bush. This of course is just in the private sector. When you factor in the public sector's (the government's) increased size that has occured under Bush, the overall job loss since January 2001 is 821,000, according to numbers released last week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
So, both distort, lie and try to confound. Pick one.....it seems one's about as good as the other.
