Sitting for the CPA exam in October. I think people who spend lots of money and effort on school prestige are idiots.

Yea my stupid friend spent $200k going to Harvard, now he works at the largest hedge fund in Chicago and makes $200k+ 2 years out of college
Another idiot went to UPenn Wharton now he's working at a bulge bracket on wall st only pulled in $150k his first year

Agreed. Pedigree matters quite a bit when you are shooting for a BB bank or a prominent fund. Big bucks can be had.

Although I wouldn't expect that guy to realize it too much, considering he's going to be an accountant.

i would be surprised if he gets recruited by big 4 with that gpa and major. but yea, degree in applied math from harvard or degree in finance from wharton will definitely get your foot in the door.

btw not all accountants are created equal ;)

LMAO... Says a man with a 2.81 GPA and mostly Pass/Fail classes.

Anyone who says school name doesn't matter is an utter moron actually. If you'll be applying for the same job as a Columbia grad, and you have EQUAL credentials... who do you think they're going to hire?

Actually, if you'll be applying for the same job as a Columbia grad, and he has LOWER credentials than you are, they'll probably still hire him.

I doubt you do. With the deft way you have handled yourself here, you probably have no fekkin clue. Especially when "kthx" is your best answer.
