Looks like you are getting downgraded XP2700+. Good stuff. Congrats. My newegg retail was able to cut 12.5X166 at 1.7V (mine was downgraded 2500+). It runs after few minutes of prime95 at 48C using AX-7 with YSTech variable speed 80mm fan (at max speed). I don't expect to run hotter than 50C (actual temperature - not nice estimates some mobos give).

Can someone explain "downgraded 2500+" or point me in the right direction to read on it. I think I know what the answer is going to be but why and how do you know??

TIA

These people are idiots. It is not "downgraded" from 2700.. It was meant to be a 2700, but it failed the tests! It was not able to handle stock 2700 specs and obtain acceptable parameters. Those two numbers don't mean a whole lot!

So how do you know it was supposed to be a 2700? I mean it says AXDA1700 not AXDA2700... Are the number etched on later? If so, then what's the hint, the other numbers? This is mostly academic for me, just curious.

Running 12.5 x 166 (Crucial 2100 ram limited)
epox 8k7a
sk-7 w/ panflo fan
38 deg idle
43 deg after 1 hour half life

I know!!! it can go more, but need new ram, and I can't justify the price.

You got almost the same kind of chip I got(9429157270622 vs 9429157271123) and I can't get mine over 2 Gig (200x10) and that took upping the volts to 1.75v. I tried getting it up to 2.1 Gig and it wouldn't run stable (I tried upping the volt all the way to 1.85 but Prime95 still crashed immediately). I wonder what makes the difference between similar chips being able to OC better than others.

Well, I have a confession, I just copied your chips info, and put in the last four numbers, cause that's all I recorded. so I'm not sure about the 9429157 part, but I am sure about the 271123 part, and the stepping, and the week. Sorry for the confusion, I'm just lazy.

I got one recently; markings: AXDA1700DUT3C 9428666270285 JIUHB0311XPMW
The processor identifier page ID's it as a Tbred-B; Week 11, Batch M, Batch Production Number 0285.
Don't know how it overclocks yet, as I haven't had a chance to install it yet.
