On pricewatch it list AXDA1700DUT3C which means it is TBred B. Can anybody confirm it and tell me what steppings and versions of AMD XP 1700+ do you get at googlegear? I guess either retail or OEM info is appreciated. Thanks.

No one buys from googlegear? Anyway I just purchased AMD XP 1700+ Retail CPU from newegg for 61$ shipped. It seems that people were getting TBreads Bs from February 2003 on regular basis. I feel kind of confident - 3 years warranty is great. I don't think that I will regret. BTW, ordered mini RC car too for 6.99$ to play with kids. Got 512MB Kingston HyperX PC2700 to run FSB at 166 but at googlegear.

couldn't wait, went for a sure JIUHB:0307 from a trader here. I will keep an eye though, seems the family wants to upgrade from the pentium 1's and 2's now;)

Apparently somebody got AMD XP 1700+ OEM version 03 week 11 from googlegear (and was getting 2.2GHz easy). It seems that googlegear is way to go with 1700+. Green light for now with googlegear. As I said I purchased Retail version at newegg and should get it on Thursday:( As long as I can get 2.1 or 2.2 GHz that is fine with me. I don't need further overclocking as my mobo is limiting factor.

Dunno what googlegear is offering in 1700+'s but they've just slashed their prices big time on the 2400+ and above CPUs. Got a retail Barton 2500+ for $139, down from $150 yesterday and $180 on Friday. It might not OC as well as my T-bred B, but it'll be fun to play with it.

Oh yah, and definitely don't buy a 1700+ from NE right now, as people have been getting T-bred A's; I ordered one last week for my bro and got a T-bred A............

I believe that it is downgraded XP 2700+. This should be good overclocker but I think that DLT3C 0310 is better (running cooler since it takes 1.5V core instead of 1.6V for DUT3C from googlegear). Nevertheless, very good purchase considering the price. Good luck.

I received today retail XP 1700+ from newegg. I will let you know which version etc. Apparently 11 and 12 week is not as good as 10 so I suggest either getting 10 or wait for another better week and buy at googlegear and save some money. I believe that Gameve.com sells 0309 for 60$. I guess it is as good as 11 week. So best bet is 0310, which can be obtained from Canada for 68 bucks. Personally, I purchased retail at newegg since all people since March were getting good TBredBs at NE. I want to hit 2.17 GHz so I think that any B can do it plus extra warranty. Cheasy heatsink and fan will be good enough for my K6-2 400 Mhz because I don't want to use Volcano 7 on it.

Looks like you are getting downgraded XP2700+. Good stuff. Congrats. My newegg retail was able to cut 12.5X166 at 1.7V (mine was downgraded 2500+). It runs after few minutes of prime95 at 48C using AX-7 with YSTech variable speed 80mm fan (at max speed). I don't expect to run hotter than 50C (actual temperature - not nice estimates some mobos give).

Can someone explain "downgraded 2500+" or point me in the right direction to read on it. I think I know what the answer is going to be but why and how do you know??

TIA

The DLT3C's don't necessarily run cooler...

I've had 3 DLT3C's I've sold off that ran pretty hot compared to my DUT3C 2.3 @ the same speed with a higher voltage

The 0310wpmw's seem to run REALLY hot but they do great speeds at low voltages... i had one that could do 2.4 ghz @ 1.8 volts but temps ran 57C (abit reports temps high) ...

For anyone interested, I can't get this chips over 1.9 GHz at default voltage. If I up the voltage I can get it to 2 GHz, but with my board beeping at me like crazy. This batch doesn't seem to be that great of an overclocker.

Just make the warning sound off at a higher temp in the BIOS.

I have 2 XP 1700, DUT3C and DLT3C. The DUT3C running cooler than DLT3C. Weird......

it's not weird... just because something runs at lower voltages at default doesn't mean it's going to run cooler at higher vcores..

Now 2.1GHz was running at 40.9C when mobo temp was 25.9C. Awesome. This CPU runs so cool. Every CPU is different even if they are called the same (DLT3C) or whatever. When runnig at stock speed they will behave similarly but when overclocked they will behave differently. Those XPMW/MPMW/ etc will play a role as well. Not too familiar with it though.

Actually, doesn't AXDA1700DUT3C just tell you that it's a TBred vs. Palomino. I thought you couldn't tell if it's an A or B until you actually get it and look at the "other" markings.

You got almost the same kind of chip I got(9429157270622 vs 9429157271123) and I can't get mine over 2 Gig (200x10) and that took upping the volts to 1.75v. I tried getting it up to 2.1 Gig and it wouldn't run stable (I tried upping the volt all the way to 1.85 but Prime95 still crashed immediately). I wonder what makes the difference between similar chips being able to OC better than others.
