Yes, but it's a healthy kind of fat (mostly monounsaturated).

Lettuce tip: Don't eat Head/Iceburg Lettuce, it's practically useless for Nutrients.. Eat Leafy Lettuce like Romaine, the darker the green the better. Fresh Spinach is also a great substitute for Lettuce in salads.

Like Head Lettuce, Celery is another vegetable that doesn't offer much nutrition.

Ok. So I know how you feel. I am not a vegetable guy. I am whatever is the farthest away from a vegetable guy. More of a meat and potatos guy. Recently (Last Friday) I got engaged to a pastry chef. Yes I know, my waistline is going to take a hit, but there are some good consequences. EVERYTHING is free range, hormone free, all natural, not processed. Her daughter (mine too soon) asks for a goat cheese or hummus snack every night and she is three. But here is the point:

When we first started dating I would always go over there. SHe is healty so no chips or salty snacks so I mentioned that i miss those snacks. So the next night I go over there and she has peas(I thought) in a bowl on the table. I start to eat them out of the pod and realize that they are not pease so I ask. "Edamame" she says. Now I am an addict. I can't hardly go to sleep without going through a pile of them. They have completly replaced popcorn in my life. I even boiled some up real quickly when some friends came over for beers and they like them too.

yea I do the same thing with Edamame (soybeans). They are incredibly good for you but that's not why I eat them. I really like them and they don't make me feel like a greasy ball of nauseous crap like a big bowl of potato chips would (which I love too). I have recently found a frozen brand in some chinese market that is really good. They are the freshest, firmest, greenest, sweetest beans I ever had. Better then any restaurant. Throw them in boiling water with a little salt and lemon. 2 minutes later you got a great snack, even meal replacement in a pinch. Also, from what I know they help absorb and digest alcohol. I have been seeing edamame in a few bars lately. In fact I am going to a tavern right now that has bowls of edamame and super thin breadsticks at the bar. Probably takes me longer to get drunk so they make more money haha....
