What US city do you perceive to have the "best" weather?

I'm not disagreeing with you, exactly. I freaking love hurricanes, and i like some rain. I hate cold, nasty, shit rain.

Coastal rainstorms can be awesome--they are usually quick and super violent. And in Florida, it is often raining while the sun is out, which is both shitty and great at the same time.

But, on average, such conditions are unfavorable to most people.

Humidity isn't as bad on the coast. True, it's worse in Miami than other parts of the country that aren't the south, but even in FL, it is very mild in comparison.

Luckily Austin has awesome weather but the summers get pretty hot. The weather in south Louisiana sucks ass, too much random ass rain storms, too hot and too humid

I do like some Bay area mornings with the fog in the bay. It looks cool but to have to live in it would probably suck.

I like hot and dry with warm nights, so personally I would prefer Phoenix, Vegas or South Texas.

I don't really know... I do want some snow in the winter though.

I'm in Vancouver and while the summers are gorgeous, the winters are just rainy. I like some rain in the fall and spring, but it needs to be like 10C colder here in the winter to keep the snow around and it'd be perfect.

Actually, where my wife is from in the interior of the province is probably best. Hot (40+C) in the summer, cold and snowy in the winter, and not much rain the rest of the year. Think wine country in California with a month or two of snow in the winter.

Then why have I been commuting to graveyard shifts on my motorcycle year-round for three years? Dress appropriately and don't complain until there's ice all over (haven't seen any though I have seen pockets around ~32F). 😉

I agree. While the majority of the country has 7-9 months of crappy weather and 3-4 months of great weather, Phoenix is opposite. Sept - May are best.

This comes from someone who has lived in Seattle, Miami, Sacramento, Durham, and Cincinatti.

Trouble is it is completely unbearable the other 3 months out of the year.

It can be nice, and I do like that there is this "minimal" variation in climate.

But the bad thing about Berkeley is that you are literally sitting in fog most of the time.

mold is a huge problem here.

Summer temps rarely hit 90, winter temps rarely dip below 50.

It's not overly humid, doesn't rain all the damned time like the Seattle/Portland area, lots of sunshine most of the year.

HOWEVER, drive just a few miles inland from the coast and ...Hotter than hell in the summer, cold as hell in the winter.

Yeah, sorry, I should have been clearer. Napa, Sonoma or Mendocino Counties. The Mendo/Sonoma coast weather is definitely different than the inland areas.
