In Denver it was on Channel 2, which is now "the WB" here. TNG and DS9 were on Channel 2, probably so they had something else to show besides the same movies over and over.

UPN didn't become a channel until 1995.
TNG was a first run syndicated show so it was on different stations in different places.

ST:TNG originally launched in 1987. UPN was not launched until 1995.
edit: TNG was aired on channel 12 or KPTV, a then independent station. This was also the same station that ran all the syndicated TOS episodes when I was a kid.
