I have Johnny Walker Black (12yr), and Chivas Regal 18yr.

I've had both on the rocks (aka ice).

I feel like a waste to mix it w/coke. That's what Jack Daniels is for.

What else to mix scotch with and still be considered elegant?

If you're worried about being considered elegant you shouldn't be drinking at all. You drink what YOU like, not what others like.

Drink what you enjoy. If you're drinking something to look "classy", you will actually just look like a tool.

Drunk ain't classy. Even Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra couldn't make drunk look classy. Stick to soda pop. Tiny bubbles are classy.

Mix with red sweet vermouth and bitters makes a Manhattan.

Lemon juice and sugar makes a Whisky Sour.

Sugar, bitters, and soda makes an Old Fashioned.

Mix with drambuie to make a Rusty Nail.

Classic Irish Coffee combines scotch, coffee, and cream.

A splash of water is the only thing I'd mix it with. Scotch tastes too good, and has too strong a flavor for mixed drinks imo.

Soda & ice only goes with the mix malts. Single malts gets a splash of distilled water or 1 cube of ice.

a twist might work.

scotch is a bit strong flavored for mixing and the flavor doesn't go with much, imho. rusty nail is the only scotch mixed drink off the top of my head.

In what space-time continuum? Not in this one.

Scotch shouldn't be mixed. You can have a scotch and soda or a scotch and water. Anything else is silly.

Irish whiskey is NOT scotch!
