soda?
Just don't put any in with your scotch. Wave the soda bottle over the top of the glass.

taking a filet mignon, grinding it up, and making a well done burger out of it, smothered in mustard, relish, ketchup, and onions.
Irish Whiskey dne Scotch WhiskyClassic Irish Coffee combines scotch, coffee, and cream.
You shouldn't be mixing scotch with anything, even water. If you have to mix scotch with something for it to taste good then you have shitty scotch.
Take a sip of some really good cask strength scotch neat, like Laphroaig, then add a small splash of water to it. The high alcohol content masks some of the more subtle flavors. It's incredible with good scotch how just a little bit of water opens things up.
Yea, cask strengths are too strong without water. I prefer my scotch neat, but only up ~90 proof or so. I add water to the strong ones.
I've even noticed water making a difference with 40% stuff like Highland Park 12 year, too.
If you don't enjoy drinking it neat then isn't that the ultimate waste?
That's the conventional logic, but there's something I don't care for when adding water to the standard strength whiskies. I don't think it ruins it or anything, but I guess I like a certain burn level. Sometimes when traveling, I'll take a flask of scotch, pour some in a glass, and add water to stretch the scotch. If the supply was unlimited though, I'd drink it without water.
I have Johnny Walker Black (12yr), and Chivas Regal 18yr.
I've had both on the rocks (aka ice).
I feel like a waste to mix it w/coke. That's what Jack Daniels is for.
What else to mix scotch with and still be considered elegant?
