I just moved into a new subdivision where they are still building most of the houses. It finally rained last night and muddy water is running down the road towards my house. While not the same, reminds me if shit streams in Iraq running down the road. Because in some places they just shit/piss and canal it to the roads, where it runs freely.

Having been to several 3rd world countries its funny how many times I see things here in America that remind me of them.

I didn't have to lock my front door when I left the house. Come to think of it, I didn't have to lock the doors in my cars either that were in my driveway and street.

Also don't have to worry about someone stealing my Christmas decorations or any of my neighbors being trashy.

I didn't wake up to loud rap or hip hop music coming from anywhere near my vicinity either.

It looks like he's gotten a bit bigger in the last week....after having a good talk with him about me stomping him into road kill he decided to move....they move rather quickly so i'm glad i didn't have to test my theory that i'm quicker than him.

It's probably just trying to keep warm and dry. You should build it a tarantula house.

I didn't have to deal with any literally inbred cops, officials, or administrators that care for nothing about me except how I can enrich them. My boss is out of town until Monday.

Imagine you think you're petting your cat at night, turn on the light, and there are like 20 of those all bunched up next to you.

Not only did I NOT have to boil my water today, but instead I made it all bubbly in my sodastream before consuming.

Heard a cyclest/motoconcho get smoked by a van 2 nights ago....driving at night and a lot of them don't have lights/reflectors on their bikes, along with wearing dark clothing makes them hard to see. Van passed us, then coming the oposite way a taxi was passing someone else causing the van to veer of into the bike lane, didn't see the guy on a bike and hit him.

I have clean purified running water. When I have to take a shit, my shitter awaits me. My gas stove works... still. My refrigerator is still functional. My electricity is there, intact. My phone works (although my calls are usually scammers... I don't answer it). That's enough for now.
I didn't have to hunt for dinner.
Don't tell me, it came hunting for you?

I didn't have to bribe a government official to do their duty.
I didn't didn't have to worry about being refused work because of my religious beliefs or who my parents were.
I wasn't arrested for calling a Governor\Mayor\President an asshole.
My electricity stays on throughout the day.
I don't need to carry a firearm.
I don't have to worry about foreign military troops engaged in firefights 10 feet away from where my kids play.
Don't have to worry about drone strikes.
I don't have to worry about the air I breath when I go outside.
My news isn't censored by the government.
I don't need to warn people about the water when they come and visit from other countries.
I'm not required to give a shit, bow acknowledge or respect you if you are royalty or you are military or if your family has wealth. I can tell you to go f*$k yourself to your face without worrying.
I don't have to worry about laws not applying to me.

I don't need to carry a firearm.
In my general area, the only thing we really have to worry about is black bears. I grew up in crime ridden areas. I've been in some pretty shitty areas. Never needed a gun. So from my perspective firearms are more an optional "Nice to have" thing.
There is a difference between needing and wanting.

I left my heated house and got into my heated car so I didn't have to walk 32 miles to work in 30 degree weather with 20 mph winds this morning to get to my heated office.

Go on and take a 7-mile stroll through the wilderness without one then.

Next take a 1 mile stroll through the projects, since you feel you don't need one, ever.

Post back when you have done those 2 things.

I'm going to avoid your assumptions

You live in a first world country.
You are not forced to live in the wilderness. Its a choice.
You are not forced to walk through or live in "the projects".
You can freely travel to a region of the US where big cats are not an issue.
If you do not like your neighborhood, you can move.
There are no laws, policies traditions or cultures in place forcing you to hike through big cat territory.

You are coming across as someone who is trying to 1-up someone else because you think your lifestyle is superior.
What you need to understand is that you and your choices in a first world country are very different than if you lived in other parts of the world.

I take 5-7 mile hikes all the time in the local canyons and mountains without a firearm (and I own several).

I've never carried a gun on me in public in my entire 50 years on this planet. Never felt the need to quite frankly.

I've done both in multiple 3rd world countries, i can see why you would need one though with the way your first 50+ posts have been.
