I'm too old to know what they feel entitled to, but from what I can tell they feel entitled to bags of Fruit Loops. :awe:

Srsly though, I suspect their expectations are lower than the Baby Boomers expectations were. Could be wrong of course, but most of the things that get bandied about(Cell Phones, PS3's, big screen TV's, etc)are simply a Modern version of Trinkets and Beads. Easily attainable by all, even those working at McD's.

There was a time when Owning a Home was an expectation, but over the last few Decades it has become more and more a Luxury. I suspect that many Kids these days don't even consider that attainable. Which is a shame really and shows how mucked up our priorities have become.

I hope they are entitled enough not to vote for old age retirement for deadbeats losers and spendthrifts who aided and abetted bankrupting USA aka baby boomers. I think they will be another greatest generation despite this threads pessimism. My kids are 15, 13 and 10 so I hope so at least.

You guys always say it was better back then but the people who are raising these kids are the ones who lived back then or raised the people who are raising this generation. The better back then generation is just as much at fault as this generation is.

No their are some fucked up kids. They all live a charmed life with no worries so it enables them to be fancy free and foot lose. That will all change, is changing, and reality has a way sharpening people. Those who don't break will be like your grandparents. Read " the fouth turning" it's all in there. Happens every 80 years like clock work.

Actually, that's what's wrong with YOUR generation. Owning a home is not an entitlement, it should be an achievement. The fact that people think everyone should be able to own a home is at least 50% of the reason why the Economy is so fucked. No fuckers, if you bag groceries for a living, I don't think you should be to own a home. Unless you are making 6 figures, you should NOT be able to own a home.

Kids just aren't fucked up. They're raised that way by their parents.

Um because drugs actually do fix everything?

People who hate drugs piss me off. I was watching this show Hoarders where people with severe mental illness start to collect random shit and never throw anything out. This is a somewhat well understood mental condition and the treatment for it is known. Do the people on the show ever mention anything about fixing the real problem? Nope, they just clean the house and expect the problem to go away. It's on the same level of stupid as trying to talk cancer away

Of course some people just like it when life is a huge impossible mess. Instead of treating mental disorders with drugs, they just live in their shitty house and keep hoarding their own urine because their anti-science attitude tells them drugs should be a last resort rather than a first resort.

Drugs are cool but pharma companies are not.

Disagree.

Partially agree. I don't agree with housing loans that allow someone with little to no income to purchase a house knowing that there is a huge likelihood they will default at some point.

If someone who bags groceries for 8 an hour managers to save a freaking SOLID down payment on a house, then they obviously show that they can save and are responsible. Those are the people who have ACHIEVED a house.

I don't think every fuckin person should get a house though. There are those destined to live in a trailer or rent their entire lives.

NO, they can not.

These people depend on their monthly income to afford a home. It is NO DIFFERENT than living paycheck to paycheck. And once you lose your home, you're likely upside down completely because home values are basically 80% of the average American's Savings.

Hit by a job loss? Bad economy? Health problems? Your house is lost. Millions of people who are in foreclosure have just now found out the hard way - why a house should NOT be considered a risk-free investment.

And most importantly, why they CAN NOT afford a house, even if they misleadingly believe they can.

Are you like 80 or something?

1) It's not really that acceptable. Everyone frowns upon those girls. I don't see that as acceptance.
2) Just a trend?
3) Yeah, probably because we don't live in the 50s anymore where sex is supposed to be only for marriage(for proper women anyway...). Sex should be more accepted.
4) I don't see the problem. We all went to cell phones at my residence because landlines were worthless if we were out of the house. I see cellphone as better for both the kid and parent. Parents can keep track of their kids with GPS apps if they are really that pesky, and kids can have all the cool shit with it.
5) Uh, it's still a big problem. I think we treat it differently than previous generations did, and maybe that's why you think it's more acceptable. (i.e. not sending them to special schools, or dropping them out of high school/college forever and doing all kinds of other controlling behaviors that shunned them from society and basically put them off the radar forever...) Previous generations just took these girls out of society. No one would get to know about them because they would be instantly dropped from school or whatever, and they'd be stuck at their homes or in some special environment. And I'd love to hear about how many 12 year olds are having babies. Maybe it's just that the education system isn't working regarding education about sex. <--- Thaaaaat...

ET is a movie you tool.

Anyway, you're a troll, but I responded anyway. Probably put you on the ignore list for obvious trollin'.

Anyway, things this generation feels entitled to:

Rights for LGBTQ folk. (It's truth. Just a matter of time before all you old people die and then legislation will be passed to make gay marriage legal; fact.)
Maybe greener environments.
I don't know if they feel entitled to the free music and movies, but they sure do take advantage of it. :D
Internet connection.

This. It's not even kids as much as it's old people really. They expect a fix for everything. They also feel more entitled to healthcare than young people even though young people have more life to live.

Kids are like, "meh... poppin' some pillz 4 dis partaaayy..."

Just wondering, how old are you?

And yes, girls do dress more slutty then even 10 years ago. I've been to a high school dance recently (working, not attending) and they all dress like whores, its accepted. It's not an exception.

So really the saying "dress like a whore" is basically meaningless in the context of today. It is a sexist device to maintain superiority over a group.

This. If it's really accepted then it's not frowned upon or said in such a demeaning fashion.

It's quite affordable/reasonable to own a home with well below 6 figures, even for combined income... (*Cough* Sounds like elitist scumbaggery in there...*cough*)

This. My friend got a trailer when he moved to a different town, and it's actually really nice for just 1 or 2 people (size of an apartment). Part of the housing collapse is when everyone is trying to buy a 300k house because they won't settle for anything affordable like a trailer or a condo. Live within your means!
