I'm not really sure what it is exactly that they feel entitled to since it seems like just about everything but I can tell you that even if they are not entitled to it they are going to get a good dose of reality in the not to far off future.

Back it up, now. Give the studies or shut it.

lol it was an article posted here a few months back. Nobody is trolling cept maybe you.

And how the hell is your opinion even worth consideration. Last I remember almost all of your threads are you crying about everything and anything you can while living with your parents.

I was naive to think my mom would be supportive of my dreams and goals, rather than spend my entire life fucking me over. All of the friends' parents were always supportive of their choices, no matter what they were, as long as it meant they stayed out of trouble.

Maybe he hates it because he hates going to his job.

Just because your daddy hates cellphones doesn't mean they are worthless. What kind of fucktard thinks of an argument like that? "OH MY DADDY DON'T LIKE THEM AND HE A DOCTOR. DERP DERP..."

They are pretty invaluable for someone who is on call and doesn't want to be confined right next to their phone 24/7/365.

read zins post fruitloops boy

and the reason he hates cellphones so much is because people call him when hes not on call

they've had pagers for this for many, many years. land lines have always been quite accessible, and for those people that are on-call, you are always accessible. This is no different now than it was before cell phones.

and no one is on call every hour of every day. that is retarded.

also, business ran quite well before cell phones. Sure, you could probably show a huge increase in profits or whatever, some sort of metrics that show the impact on cell phones for business--but you could also pull up some rather damning metrics that show the impact of increased cell phone usage while driving. ....so then we have to discuss what is actually more important here.

lol, I knew someone would bring up pagers. They're not that different from cell phones, are they? They do different things, but sending messages no matter where yah are, wirelessly, is pretty much the same idea.

And there are people who are on call for very long times. I'd hate to be stuck up in my house all that time waiting direly by the phone. It's about raising the standards of living.

Then turn off the fucking phone when he is not on call if he hates it so much? Simple solution... or have it not ring for those people on certain days/whatever. It's configurable.

yeah....so...you're saying that cell phones really aren't necessary, since there is, and has been some other device that essentially provides the same damn functionality.

False. Maybe if you live in 90210.

That's always the case.
That's because cellphones are cool, and adults want this shit too... Old generations are like, "Epic phone is epic! Epic music player is epic!" It's not a new generation thing.
Yeah, because older generations were never like this... You do realize our standards of living have gone up right?
False. That's the previous generations.

Sorry, I grew up in a small town and it was that way even there. Other places I lived was even more so. Its nothing terribly new, but I do think its gotten worse as more families have multiple cars.

I never said this stuff is only specific to this generation, its just the stuff that I've found most noticeable. Wanting the newest stuff is as old as humans, and probably even predates us.

And sorry, but your made up quote about popping pills for a party is one thing I'm talking about. Tons of younger people now act like they can't function at all without drugs. Sure, plenty of adults have used alcohol and/or other drugs in social settings, but I've met far fewer that outright depend on it like younger people.

Actually, do you even understand what entitled means? You seem to not understand the difference between someone being able to get it for themselves versus it being theirs just because. I'd say entitlement is much more of an issue now than it has been in previous generations, as while older people want many of this stuff, they don't feel like they just deserve it.

Yeah, I do. Old people feel like they deserve this shit. Look at all the legislation that gets passed for them. Entitled motherfuckers.

You'll have to be more specific than "this shit". Also, there's a lot of younger people that have entitlement about the same things that I think you're talking about, they just don't give a shit enough about most things that would require legislation to actually do anything about it.

I will say that there's quite a bit of older generation people that act like a younger generation, and like I said, yeah, its not specific to a generation, but I think there is carryover.

trident as to your point number 4 no one needs a cell phone. everything was fine for the 100000s of years before they existed. TBH they are more of a PITA then a blessing
That's like saying we don't need the Internet because we got along for the 100000s years before just fine.

While you sit at a light and bust out that Thomas map, looking at page 69 A-4 trying to figure out where the FUCK you are and where the fuck you're going, someone else can whip out an iPhone, press gMaps, and hit compass.

Fine =/= better

I think society as a whole feels entitled to medication to "fix" everything.
Um because drugs actually do fix everything?

People who hate drugs piss me off. I was watching this show Hoarders where people with severe mental illness start to collect random shit and never throw anything out. This is a somewhat well understood mental condition and the treatment for it is known. Do the people on the show ever mention anything about fixing the real problem? Nope, they just clean the house and expect the problem to go away. It's on the same level of stupid as trying to talk cancer away

http://ezinearticles.com/?Clutter-and-Hoarding---Your-Brain-Chemistry-Can-Help!&id=1125634
So can your brain chemistry help you with clutter? Many clutterers and hoarders tend to have many of the symptoms described for low serotonin and low dopamine levels.

Of course some people just like it when life is a huge impossible mess. Instead of treating mental disorders with drugs, they just live in their shitty house and keep hoarding their own urine because their anti-science attitude tells them drugs should be a last resort rather than a first resort.

By "this generation" you're specifically asking the current crop of ahole kids these days right?

Might be easier to ask what they don't think they should do than what they're entitled to.

Like hard work, honestly and morals.

GET OFF MY PORCH!!!

Kids these days feel entitled to cellphones and the ability to text their friends. Take this away from them and they scream bloody murder. Today's 20-something generation feels entitled to high self-esteem, because for some fucking idiotic reason the school systems have pushed the idea that everyone's a winner and there are no losers and no failures.
