Not having insurance when I was pregnant with my 2nd child, and being 2 weeks overdue with her.

They put me on Pitocin which speeds up and intensifies labor, but they wouldn't give me any painkiller because I was poor.

That birth felt like a train crashing through a train station. I actually wept when I got pregnant with my 3rd child years later, because I was terrified of going through that kind of pain again.

Maybe you shouldn't be having kids if you are so poor you cannot afford painkillers.

A third child? Ever heard of birth control?

Dude, don't talk where you don't have all the facts, okay? There's much more to this situation than you know.
Then she should post the whole story instead of half of it. My comment still stands.

LOL!

Like I'm gonna do that for you. Hehe!

Just remember, those who are judged will be judged. I've made mistakes in my life and I understand that others do, too.

Peace and blessings to you, no matter what twists and turns your life may take.

Not too bad.. but no fun all the same..

Broke my arm in two places = 2 times under the knife, 2 plates, 10 bolts, 20 staples, and muscle damage.
Also lots of good body crushing slams.

All snowboarding.

It had to be the horrible toothache that I had.

Every time my heart beat, my tooth felt like it was going to explode.

Worst physical pain I've had is being hit in the sack or when my achilles tendon cramps.

Mental anguish is worse than any physical pain I've ever experienced, though.

Ive had my share of pain but nothing that is as bad as some people.
1. Put my hand in an old electric wringer and it got stuck at the elbow and kept rubbing (nasty scar there)
2. Ate a bottle of heart pills (dont remember it but my parents do)
3. Jumped out off of a 2 story building
All the stuff above was when i was about 4 or younger too
Nothing really physical pain wise after that. I also only cried when I got my hand through the wringer.

When I get a cold, and then fly on a plane, my sinuses hurt a lot when it is decending to land.

This one time the pain was so intense tears were streaming down my face and my whole body was drenched in sweat. I guess my mom was asking me what was wrong but I couldn't hear anything. Pain was lancing through my head and I felt like I wanted to die.

The worst pain I've ever felt.... well about 5 years I was riding a ATV with my friend and it had just gotten dark out so we were riding back. Well my headlight went out at a really bad time, going about 40MPH I hit a 4-5 foot high pile of rocks and then landed in the pit these rocks came out of... flipped many times and the ATV missed landing on me by about 6 inches... I had flown through the air about 35-40 feet. How I landed I'm not sure, the last thing I remember was my headlight going out... I remember none of this just my friend has told me. Next thing I knew I had woken up in a ambulance and was told not to try to move, I had broken my back. It was a horrible horrible pain, it hurt sooooooo bad. I ended up passing out again. Anyways I had broken 2 vertabrate and was so close to paralysis the doctors said it was a miracle I could still feel my legs if they had fractured another 1/16" I would have been paralyzed. Said I had to be careful... any sudden jerks could cause permanent damage until they vertabrate healed some Well anyways that wasnt the most painful part.... but it was VERY painful. The most painful part was about 3-4 days later when they tried to get me to walk after molding my body cast and putting it on me. I have never felt anything so bad in my life. They stood me up and I just screamed from the pain, I can't describe how horribly that hurt.

Luckily everything healed after about 6 months and everything is ok. I am one VERY lucky person.

My infected toe. A year ago it got very infected/ingrown on both sides of the nail, and the nail had to be surgically removed. Then when it started healing a few days after that, the gauze fused to my nail bed and even soaking it for an hour wouldn't let it go, so I had to rip it off. That happened twice. :( Now almost a year later, my new toenail is almost grown past the edge of the nailbed, but one side is getting ingrown/infected again. The problem seems to be though, my wife has a bad habit of stepping on it or kicking it in my sleep. :( So now instead of it just being irritated and swollen, she kicked it so hard last night that the nail made a cut and was discharging blood for the first time since this started.

Does that count as worst pain?

three winters ago i was racing snowmobiles with a few friends. the feild was about 1/2 mile long with a few hills in it. after the last hill.. it's pretty much a straight drop off to a highway.

started to go, reached the last hill, flew over the edge, cleared the ditch, landed in the middle of the highway, i blew (dislocated maybe?) both knees out and sprained a wrist. bent the rails and broke the rear suspension arm in my skidoo mxz600 (99').

one of the friends we were with caught his ski tips on the shoulder of the road and ended up flipping his sled end over end onto the highway, he broke his leg in two spots. the other guy turned sharply, he flew off and hit a tree, no psycial damage, just black and blue.

ever since then, if i i'm not careful, i'll find my knee popping out and me rolling to the ground in horrible pain :(

She refuses to have another child.

Sounds similar to a story I heard while back, of a hospital administrator that needed his appendix taken out. They gave him a muscle relaxant, but neglected to give him an anesthetic OR put him to sleep, so although it looked like he was out, he was completely awake for the entire operation... could feel it and hear, just couldn't move to tell them he wasn't out... he was totally traumatized...

Isla, the more I learn about your husband, the less I like the man.

Well, at the moment I don't like him very much either. :( This had to be the worst mother's day ever. :( It's one thing that he's totally ignored his mother (no gift, no phone call, and the card he sent was one I had on hand and totally impersonal) but another thing that he has totally blown off the day for me. No flowers, no card, no breakfast, no clean house, just mad at me for WANTING the house to be cleaned. Apparently, I am a bitch with expectations that are too high. Maybe I am. I was just hoping I would get a little special treatment, and yeah, I was a little cranky when I realized it was just another day. Actually, it wasn't even as good as other days. It is like mother's day is a day of anger and contempt. And knowing his mom, I sort of understand that... but I thought we were getting past that. We really need to get past that.

At this moment, I think emotional pain is about the worst thing there is. :(

And HotChic, thanks for coming to my defense. You know how some people around here are so perfect, they can't imagine anything less. :p

:(

Here you go, happy mother's day

It seems a lot of husbands skip this part but except every on Father's day... but the only advice I can offer, is regardless of how bad your mother's day was because of your husband, treat him on Father's day like how you wanted to be treated, perhaps he will get a hint of guilt that will help him understand your needs.

Thank you, Sagalore. :)

I usually do treat my husband to a nice Father's Day... pancake breakfast, and then a nice meal later in the day (maybe an Italian dish). I go out and buy presents for him from myself and from the kids.

My oldest daughter reminded him of this and so he went out at 7PM for some bubble bath for me. And even though I was tempted to tell him to give himself an enema with it, I thanked him and let him know that I just wanted to be remembered a little.

His defense is that he's such a maverick, he doesn't like to celebrate made up holidays like Valentine's and Mother's Day. :p The old, "I meant to ignore you on Mother's Day, it's just my style!" excuse. Well, I don't require gifts! But I do want to be told that I am special once in a while, and not just that I'm hot and he wants to bonk me.

Good thing we have an appt with our marital counselor on Saturday. :) And of course, I do appreciate being able to vent here when I need to.

I got you all beat :p

I'd say worst pain: on march 29, 2002, when I was ejected from the rear passenger seat of my friend's blazer, shattered through the glass face first, and nailed the concrete, face first, breaking every bone between my eyebrows---chin and knocking 11 teeth loose. Oh yeah, and a shard of glass cut a huge chunk of my rear skull lose, thad had to be stapled shut.

Entire face had to be rebuilt with titanium rods, pins, screws, plates, who knows what else...

my right femur also twisted to the point of breaking several times along the shaft, and requiring 4 titanium pins/1 18" titanium rod to hold the whole mess together.

bwahah.... of course I don't remember it or the following 10 days, but I still win

Thats not as bad as me. On September 10, 2002 (one day before my birthday), I royally fvcked up my ankle. I tore like everything there is to tear, and the doctors had, and still dont have a great idea on a course of treatment. Now, you ask how I did it? I stood up. I got up out of bead, didn't twist anything, just stood up. And I didn't use crutches this entire time, so I have built myself up a high tolerance of pain. Image everytime you take a step, it feels like 3 tons is being impacted into you ankle. I am still feeling it everyday, and it is still like 3 cm swollen.
