What the HECK is wrong with UPS? They beat your packages up, and now get this:

I've had so many problems with UPS recently, but this one takes the cake:

Click on this link to track this package...

Track

The package went from California, to Texas, then for whatever reason, went to Louisiana, then back to Texas. And it says "Scheduled Delivery: Feb 16". Well, today is the 19th, and I called, and the CSR said "Well, it should be out for delivery". I'm like, why did it go to Lousiana?!?!?! She said she did not know and to call back when I got the package.

Man...I'm sick of UPS, first they beat all my packages all to SH*T, and now they can't seem to route a package! Anything similiar??

here's my story, i ordered a book 2 day shipping on a thrusday. well, it got on the second day to texas from cali. so i was like cool, i get to turn in my hw on tuesday of next week. well, then the book goes to new mexico! i was like WTFFFFF???? well, then it stays there for till saturday and then sunday. well, finally on monday i see movement, back to the same town it had taken off from texas! wtfff again! finally on thrusday exactly 7 days later i get my package.

dam(you bastards at ups)

Well, if you want my UPS horror storied:

1. I had a package that was routed wrongly and took almost two weeks to deliver. The tracking page actually said -- misrouted or routing error or something along those lines.

2. I had a package that sat at their warehouse floor for a whole week before they decided to deliver it and this was after I've made several calls to the facility and I had to tell them that they've had the package for a whole week.

3. Delivery notices that miraculously starts with second of final delivery without having made prior attempts. Again a phone call to CSR and I finally got the driver fired or reassigned.

I actually wrote an email that I sent to UPS Customer Service, Investory Relations, and some other departments (actually all departments that I could get the email of) and the title of the email said "UPS Sucks!" I now almost always refuse to use e-tailers who use UPS as their only shipper. You might find this strange but I've had more reliable results with the USPS than with UPS and FedEx is almost always good.

Lets hope that my package being sent from dell comes in one piece
I wonder if it is ups or fedex?

hmmm....

Webbed: I've written many emails to UPS like that! 😉

I'd love to list all my horrendous misadventures with UPS's crappy service, but I'm afraid it would just take too long.

A question for those who've contacted UPS with problems: Have you ever been able to get your local hub's phone number? The operators at the national office guard those like they're nuclear secrets. I finally got my local hub's number after a barrage of emails to a national CSR over a package UPS left in my trashcan. I swear, I'm not a sue-happy bastard, but one more fsck-up from UPS, and I'm considering a class-action lawsuit. :| Anyone in? 😉

Last summer we had to stop recieving monitors from UPS---the containers were arriveing as spheres, and, shall we say, the monitors contained (almost) within failed the rattle test....It took embarassing the head of sales of the company we were buying them from in front of a Director of my company to get FedEX as our primary method of shipping--only two monitors have failed the bounce test since then.

DANGER Red dawn DANGER!!!!

DO NOT give them an excuse to bowl with your package (as if they need one!)

I once worked for a MENSA student who was refurbing movie projectors---he had his brother construct beautiful wooden shipping crates that we would bolt the projector heads to, then ship cross-country. They all arrived smashed, and in most cases they cracked the caseing. The units we shipped in cardboard boxes inside cardboard boxes arrived fine. Go figure.....

An acquataince of mine works at UPS and he tells me stories of how they throw monitors down the stairs instead of carrying them down and once he threw a hard drive across a building onto another building's window.... LOL.

I guess that's considered "delivered" 🙂

Along the lines of getting the local hub's number...
I knew a guy who was working at the local hub, and he had to call in sick . So he calls the 800 number and they wouldn't give him the hub's number!!

I once got a money order through UPS. It took me 7 weeks and an uncountable number phone calls to get my money. For quite some time, they insisted they never even took a money order. It wouldn't be so bad, but it was $700.

Argh.

Dell only ships UPS....have fun with that one 🙂

I'm gonna post pics of some of the boxes I have from UPS shipments....I will post them later on...

One time I shipped a part that someone bought from me from Mass. to Penn. Well, somehow it ended up going all the way to Calif.

I think it took 2 weeks to find its way back.

I shipped a package up to someone in New Jersey that went on a 2 1/2 week odyssey. It sat in Georgia for awhile before shipping out northward (from Atlanta). It headed up THROUGH New Jersey and landed at a warehouse in New York. It then headed north, apparently on a sightseeing trip, where it wound up in Albany. It then AGAIN headed north (migratory package, maybe?) until it hit Schnectady where it finally decided to head back south again. It retraced its route back to New York City and then finally went back into New Jersey for delivery -- 18 days after it left.

UPS = efficiency.

without bothering anyone with my stories, I'll just agree with the general consensus.

UPS is suck.

All your package are belong to UPS.

I got the phone number and a personal contact at the hub here in Chicago. I had a coworker that used to work for UPS and he got me the number. I now call the hub when I have a problem with a package (which is almost 80% of the time).

"UPS: "All your package are belong to us" "

If they do, UPS doesn't take very good care of them. They left $3000 worth of computer equipment sitting out in -30 degree weather!!!

Dell ships UPS because their warehouse is inside the UPS warehouse! A friend at Mail Boxes, Etc. told me this when I had to ship my monitor back to KDS. He says that a package from CO to CA is handled some 17 times, including a few trips along a conveyor belt that ends in a 6 foot drop into a package bin. Fedex, on the other hand, only handles it 2-3 times.

Anyway, that is how dell can ship out their computers so cheaply. The parts are mere yards away from the sending lines. Gateway has a similar arrangement, only with Fedex I think.
