Personally, it irritates the piss outta me when people say nookular. It seems to be one of the most commonly mispronounced words in the U.S. I even hear it mispronouned in movies, television shows, and the news...

Pronouncing words wrong doesn't mean you are a bad person or even stupid necessarily, but a little eloquence can make or break a leader, IMO.

The difference is that nucular isn't a word, whereas people in NYC simply have a different accent than those in Boston.

It pisses me off too. The leader of our country can't even pronounce nuclear correctly. It's not even like he is close, either - there's not second 'u' sound and he ignores and 'e' that may or may not be there in his mind.

That said, oh well, it's not a big deal, more of a pet peeve.
