Is this thread the only hint AT is unintentionally spreading malware capable of hosing people's computers at home and at work?
I just uninstalled adobe plug in for firefox, uninstalled adobe reader, adobe download manager and installed foxit reader.
I am curently running full scans with malwarebyte and norton internet security.
I have seen no signs of infection on my machines so far.
It's happening now on this thread.
The guy who posted offending script above, is right. It is offending.

K... I believe you. At the time I posted it, I didn't realize there were still ads in threads, so I thought it was your code.

It would be impossible for the code I posted to run in the context in which I posted it (and especially considering I didn't include the javascript files it needs), but I edited my post and removed random parts of it to permanently disable it JUST IN CASE.
It was hitting whenever I reloaded page with the quoted script. Though not the others.
It's has stopped though now, but ads are also down as well.
If anything the virus scanner was correctly identifying the code, but I highly doubt the script actually ran in the context it was posted. Did anything actually attempt to install? 3d parser error? Anything?
Avcomparitives. The gold standard for testing antivirus programs. Ever heard of it. Your comments are baseless. Find me a better performing program.

What is code, but text.If code could run just from text.. well nothing will be safe.
Yeah but neither scored as well as Norton. And if you have been keeping track lots of these free programs go from great one year to junk the next year. So do you want to play Russian roulette with your antivirus? Norton stays on top year after year. While that summary of 2009 is nice, guess you missed the Feb. 2010 test in which avast! Free scored Advanced+ and Microsoft's Essentials, free again, both scored Advanced, AV Comparatives' two highest scores, and both higher than many "pay for" AV suites.

Just one virus checker, please.Norton didn't get a higher ranking then avast though.
Either way you should be running more then just one as it is.

Your browser, is an interpreter of text, so, if you don't unerrstand, let me just tell you FLAT OUT, you are very vulnerable when you "surf" the net.
It takes active protection, to be even half-way safe.
