We didn't have a computer science teacher. We didn't even get our first real networked computer lab with Windows 95 until my senior year. Before that it was dos computers hooked up to a single dot matrix. Instead I had a math teacher that taught a BASIC class on the side.

It's well past time that you bring up this subject with your parents. The important part is to make sure your parents realize that it's not just you who has this belief/problem. The 90 theory is totally bunk and your parents should definitely agree with you there. Make sure that you don't phrase it like an extended whine / temper tantrum.

Parents have and will always have more weight with the school than a student, because the general assumption is that high schoolers are rebellious and uneducated, and teachers are a somewhat slightly valuable commodity. But parents are more important because they pay taxes and eat the flesh of man when the moon comes out.

I guess my HS is the rare exception. Our computer classes are all very good. Ranging from a Cisco Networking sequence (where you take the CCNA Certification Exam at the end), Intro to Java and AP CS (Java), to a multitude of Art and Music classes having to do with computers. Everything from video editing, music editing, music composition. All on the computer. I guess we really do have a pretty sweet setup for HS students.

In college though, everythings bigger and better :)

Wow. That guy's a complete retard. I recommed that you borrow a video recorder and record some of the stuff he does, up to and including him yelling at you. Then, take it home and show the parents. Watch as the angry parents call up and demand to know why their kids are being yelled at. The grades dont matter at all, his attitude is whats totally outa whack. Besides, once the parents get to telling the principle off, hell either a.stop being an ass or b.get fired.

The school staff will pay a helluva lot more attention to a pissed off parent than they will to a disgruntled student.

He probably hates his life because he couldn't get a job in industry frankly.

He sounds like a complete jerk. Definitely speak again with your guidance Counselor, dean, whomever.

It's HS, so get over it, do whatever and get whatever grade, will be over soon and then you can go somewhere where real brains are required. ;)

SHE was romanian, and just didnt want to teach. Spent most of her time in her own little office while we code in VB.

Fvck him up, neo! ;)

Do whatever you want, but it sounds like this guy shouldn't be teaching at all. Fortunately, my CS teacher was great.
