I myself have shipped out one or two computers that I lost a few bucks on, including a Dell 8400 with an X800 XT card that went for <800. It was a loss, I took it, and carried on. That's the honest thing to do, that's the LEGAL thing to do.
Spanky, I would call this guy back and tell him you have consulted a lawyer and are considering taking this up with small claims court, even give him a few details such as the $3k limit in NJ for small claims, so he'll know you're not BS'ing. What do you have to lose here? A good car at a good price. You won it fair and square, if you want the car, I seriously think you can get it.
If not, leave neg feedback. If he does the same, then sue him for slander.
