Wrestling.

edit: NOT wwf stuff, but im talking about real wrestling. I went through THREE days of conditioning/practive in HS, and let me tell you, I was TIRED, and lost weight, fast.

ive played football, sure it is a lot of contact, running, etc. but its no where near as demanding as swimming is. the amount of effort swimming takes, and how much swimming they do is insane!!

its just hard doing one lap where they swim, and they warm up with 15, and then swim 30 more laps.

I was on the football, wrestling, baseball and tennis team.

While football had the contact it was not even close to wrestling practice.

Football - Oline/Dline. Linesman have to do just as much conditioning as the rest of the team, with the added fun of basically sumo wrestling on every snap of the ball during scrims.

I really don't know. I know from experience that cross country is tough, but I love it. Football seems fairly tough, but the guys on the wrestling team from high school made that sound like pure hell, so... *shrug*

nothing like working out to the point of exhuastion and then going home and NOT eating because you have to make weight

thank you.

the grunts are the heart of the team, and work harder than anyone. I played noseguard/stongside guard in HS. Only came out for kickoff.

If anyone has ever had to hit the chutes, they know how hard Oline practice is.

Wrestling. Hands down IMO. Football practice is like ball room dancing compared to wrestling practice. I'd leave football practice with some gumption, ready to go get funky. After wrestling practice sometimes I was so tired it hurt to just drive home. Arms would quiver.... Man.
Yeah, wrestling > all

Football wins because most everyone goes out for football. Not many go out for wrestling. Thus, people naturally vote football as thats probably the only sport they went out for.

Were you a swimmer? Because it sounds like you're not. Their bodies are built differently and they're used to doing lap after lap after lap. Just like a cross country guy is used to running 4-5 miles in the cold at 6am in the morning before school as a warmup.

heh i was lucky. i wrestled at 119 and i was always around 117 or so. but then again i was maybe 5ft at the time. heck im only 5'6" now and 152. But always hitting weight was nice. heck i had to eat just to keep it!

The first week of practice was always hell. no matter how much i tried to keep in shape in the off season that first week always kicked my ass. Not to mention a lot of people would drop out.

thats what i figure. all that running must be killer. i was never in a sport with really tough practises... basketball isnt that bad. volleyball is not bad. tennis is a joke.

waggy....I was sooooooo jealous of you guys that could eat ice cream at lunchtime
I played football weighing 185, and lost to 155 in 30 days so I could get that "extra pound" they allowed for weighing early.
My diet for one month consisted of
Breakfast: half glass of water
Lunch: half pint of milk
Dinner: can of tuna, fruit cocktail, and a pepsi
I thought I was going to die

Did you know that in Quebec, "Lacrosse" is slang for spanking the monkey?

Mr. Buff, vacationing in Quebec: "Yeah ladies, I'm the captain of the lacrosse team back home..."
Ladies: "Tee hee hee"
