I went from a 2 channel Altec Lansing > Logitech z-540 > Logitech z-5500 > my current Ascend 170SE + Mirage S12 Sub 🙂 Out of all my upgrades, i'm probably going to keep it the longest and trust me.. for the small space that they're in these babies sound greeat!

current PC: logitec z-2300's no mids, only squeaky highs, and boomy bass. looking to upgrade to M-Audio LX4's... u guys think thats a good idea?

I'm rockin out the Logitech Z-2300s. I love these things coupled with my Audigy 2 ZS sound cards. I'm an avid gamer and these have made my expierence even more the merrier. I love it when my room shakes from artillary strikes in BF2 and i can here bullets wizzing passed my head on different sides. Plus, i like my music loud and undistorted. And they're great because they can travel with me to college this coming year.

I still use my 5.5 year old Z-560's though they are down to a 3.1 setup as the rear right speaker went kaput (anyone have an extra they don't want?). I am looking at upgrading but will probably wait until I can afford a decent HT setup. In the meantime I might go get a pair of 280's and a clip on mic for gaming but I have not decided yet.

On my computer I am using Klipsch promedia 5.1 ultras, which are overpriced but sound good for the narrow sound field. My home theater has Athena components with a Pioneer 1015 receiver, which are superbly excellent for their price.

Eh... I've sacrificed any sort of computer upgrades in favor of my audio needs.

Strictly stereo though:

Thiel CS 2 (beautiful old speakers from 1989, weigh about 65 lbs apiece, dynaudio and peerless drivers, gotten for a tiny percentage of the original list)
B&W ASW650 sub (nice, closed 12" sub, musical and reasonably attractive)
and to drive it
Outlaw RR2150.

It's incredible for music, but only ok for movies, as it lacks the dynamic punch.
