i mean Eax and A3d games, creative 3500 or midiland 8200 or the Altec Lansing ADA880 4.1 AC3 Speakers.???
heard that midiland 8200 does not support eax or a3d.
"The SPDIF digital input or optical input is used for 5.1 Dolby Digital audio only. The ADS2000 will decode the signals for 5.1 output to the speakers. If you feed digital signals without AC3 encoding (e.g. games), you'll only get stereo output, as far as I understand. However, you can always enhance it with Dolby Pro Logic, but that's not true EAX. Pro Logic can give pretty surprising effects though....
So, in essence, gaming with the 8200 will not take advantage of the EAX feature on the SB Live since it's not possible to take advantage of the four point output from the card as there's no way you can feed these signals to the 8200. However, I believe there's a way around it, like what virenque suggested. I'll try to get hold of the speakers again to test out an idea which I've put on hold for a very long time already."
the above paper is from www.hardwarezone.com
I plan to buy SB Live D.E 5.1 (only in asia, interface is same as platinum 5.1 minus the Live drive).
Can someone kindly help me? Please...........
