Wow I gotta agree with a lot. Wake Up, Crazy Train (the rest of the song sucks and I hate ozzy but I love that intro when I heard it on a skating video I had to pick up the guitar and find some tabs hehe), Everlong, Love Buzz...

My vote is for Pennywise - Greed, and I like Millencolin - Blackeye a lot too.

Oh god yes... the way Slash makes that guitar cry is spine-tingling indeed.
 
Don't intend to turn this into a "best beginning" thread, but November Rain does indeed have an excellent beginning.
