HL2
Quake4
Remote Desktop and teriminal server
trillian
crimson
eclipse (not sure on this one)
HTMLKit
5 monitors simultaneously the 5th is a tv behind the camera

etc etc etc

I bailed on the mac in december of 2002 and haven't looked back since. Cost/performance ratio isn't even close to what you can do with either a custom box or a dell deal.

i am thinking that when i get xb0x360 i could switch to all games on console and no pc games, then i could go with linux for surfing/multimedia

Photoshop is made for Mac, but obviously not linux.

But for me, it'd be games, and Nero.

DVD authoring is next to impossible on Linux.

But other than that and the obvious games I see no reason not to use linux - other than that I currently have an ATI graphics card and the linux drivers totally SUCK, major upgrade with NVIDIA card is coming up soon for that very reason ;)

umm dude....ftp servers existed in unix/linux a LONG time before they existed in Windows ;)

As for Nero, there is a great variety of burning software in linux if that's what you are thinking of missing out on.
