The tighter your clothes, the more it hurts. I would recommend sweatpants instead of jeans.

i play in tshirt and shorts, but it's really hot here.

you don't need knee pads or armor or goalie pads or any of that crap.

jeans and a long sleeve shirt works. i wouldn't wear gloves, too hot.

and rec paintball doesn't hurt that much, as someone who has been playing for 10 years and has played on a competitive level.

edit: you don't really need a cup either. nut shots aren't that common, i've gotten 2 in 10 years. i wear a towel folded over my belt if i feel like it, but mostly i don't bother.

Make sure you freeze your paintballs. :p

doesn't do anything. just makes them more brittle if anything. and likely to break in your marker.

You ever been shot directly in the testicle at 8 feet multiple times in rapid succession? Tell me it doesn't hurt.

Wear a cup. I'm lucky I can still make babies.

that really depends on what the field sets the speed limit at. varies a lot from my expirence

we shoot at 290 or below. unless you are playing in the back yard you don't see anything over 300. when we had the indoor field it was 250 because it was closer quarters.

most hits occur from a distance in rec ball. bare skin does hurt more than clothing obviously.

there should be no situation in which you are getting shot 8 times in the balls from close up unless someone does it on purpose. running around all day in the heat with a cup on sucks worse than the small chance of a nut shot. what you experienced sucks, but it's hardly something that ever happens.

edit: i was hit once both times. the first time from across the field, the second time from about 20 feet. both hurt. i'm not saying nut shots don't hurt.

For warm weather I usually have a loose camo pants and a light full sleeve t-shirt. Be sure you have something on your head. If you get hit, it hurts and the paint is a pain in the ass in your hair. For my crotch, I just have part of my ammo belt hang over.
Last time we went, we ended up planning all tight fields instead of the woods fields we prefer. The welts I had from the close hits didn't go away for months.

if it's recball maybe something you wouldn't mind getting muddy. definitely long sleeves. you could wear a tee but there's always someone who doesn't chrono. at some of the fields you chrono yourself and say it's under whatever psi they say. some people leave it real high and it'll break skin. Or they use that really shitty paint from walmart that doesn't break.

cleats help if you're playing airball/hyperball.

everyone knows this.

Real men don't wear a shirt paintballing. Everyone knows this.

Real mean have chest hair with the fortitude of steel wool that acts like natural armor.

This also comes in handy when some little 14 year old runs up on you and yells "paint check! ref! paint check! I shot him right in the chest!", your chest hair of steel can actually punch him and spit out his paint ball, still fully intact, no mark.

There's your paint check you little whiney bitch!

Call the place up, most place have overalls so you dont mess up your cloth.. if thats the case, shorts + t-shirt.. I always wear gloves.. shot in the hand hurts like a mofo.

if you're renting mask, bring some wet naps.. those thing are nasty.. usually some one cough all over it..

I would like to stress the importance of wearing gloves. Some of the worst welts I've seen have been on hands/fingers. I have a cheap pair of faux leather gloves which work great.

If the markers are shooting below 300 FPS it does not hurt that bad. If you are using CO2 as the temps rise outside so will the FPS of the markers.

At one field I played at the "field" makers did not have to be tested for FPS. I got a real bad hit from one in my side. I told the ref about it and would not do anything about it until I got several other players to get all of the "field" markers tested. the lowest was at 330 FPS.

I usually wear a light camouflage long shirt and t-shirt under it, and baggy pants.

Also bring a change of clothes.
