Kind of a shame that now we're all going to think of this incident when we think of the British. I imagine something of a similar situation must be behind the poor perception of Americans in the UK.

Beast: Actually I'd like to learn a bit about hacking, not cracking mind you, but hacking in it's true sense. When you get right down to it, hackers created the internet, and it's crackers that everyone thinks of when they hear the word "hacker". Any good places to which I may go to learn about such things?

Not many people know what true hackers are about, and this could turn into a huge flame war just on that... The bottom line is hacking is very illegal, whether or not they (we) helped the internet get a boost in popularity or not...

btw... www.2600.com is a great start for news on the hacker community...

If you truly want to learn this stuff... make sure you know ALL of the DOS net commands like the back of your hand, because in all reality, they are the preferred way to hack... this is all im saying in that i dont feel like getting in any type of trouble...

Thanks for the words of support. I find this situation very very disappointing. But I don't think that retaliation is necessary. We should definitly take the high road on this one and not sink to the level of those who were &quot;playing a joke&quot; on me. Really funny.

As a side note, my server did not crash. It is running just fine. A few hundred posts isn't going to bring down any decent server that I know of.

I'm going to make a backup of the forums and save it along with all the IP numbers and log files just in case things get REALLY out of hand and I am forced to go to the authorities (I physically run the server). Then I'm going to delete all the negative posts and slowly try to build up DVDForums.com into what I originally planned it to be: A place to talk about DVD's.

If anything else happens at dvdforums.com, I'll let you guys know.
