Awesome, any word on whether the sale is state-wide? If those 1MX shirts are still $19.99, I'm going to pick some up after work today.

West Covina = 10 East + 45 minutes.

Here is my opinion on the 1MX shirts: I've worn more this summer than in my entire life thus far. I wear em to work, and then get them laundered and pressed at a dry cleaners. Well, I decided to wash one myself and dry it on low, and the dye started to fade away and it revealed an orangeish color around the collar.

I went to take it back and she said that you really aren't supposed to wash them yourself. A lot of Express clothes seem this way - they don't really hold up well, and a large number of their clothes are dry clean only, and I think that's a sign of shoddy fabrics and dyes. I can buy a kenneth cole pair of pants, a pair of their producers, and I can wash/dry the kenneth coles on my own but I can't the Express ones because they shrink/fade really fast.

I think I might start looking into some other brands, most of what I wear now is Express and I do seem to notice a trend that they don't hold up as well.

You're on the right track with regards to the cheap dyes. A cotton shirt shouldn't fade or bleed that much in cold water on a delicate setting in a washing machine.

I've found the best quality/best value ratio with J.Crew dress shirts. Excellent build quality and they hold their colours extremely well after repeated washings.

dooh! drove 20 miles to find out that there was no sale going on today (6/30). They actually has restocked their inventory with new stuff like thin wool sweaters and more dress pants, they are also trying to sale all the polo shirts. (which are 15.50 each for solid color or 19.90 for stripe). Most of the solid 1MX shirts are GONE (except pink, green, and blue variants).

I have great luck with Banana Republic's shirts, I wash a couple of them in warm water and dry in high heat and there are no shrinking or color-fading to be found. Plus they were 19.99 each :)

What's wrong with blue express shirts? I am kinda clueless when it comes ot fashion. I got a darkish red, black, and a darkish blue shirt. The blue one rung up for $6 too, and I liked the look of it.
Also, can these shirts be ironed? What's a safe way to iron them?

I iron much of my clothing inside out (since I don't have much of it).

It's not the ironing that wears down the 1MX shirts, but the drying cycle (even on super low).

I like the dark blue color; but they had way too many pastels when I dropped by last week, or else I would have bought more. But like I said, these shirts don't maintain that well.
