I got 3 earlier in the week, and I didn't notice this thread had been bumped. I actually came across the Hot Deals thread.
I don't like to machine wash my 1 MX shirts. Somehow one of mine got fscked up, it lost some color around the collar and I can't figure out why. I didn't wash it with anything but detergent. I can't figure it out, oh well. First article of clothing I've ever ruined, somehow.

I like to get mine drycleaned, at least when I'm wearing them to work. I think it makes a better impression, I can't iron them and get to look nearly as nice as pressed.

I bought 8 today in a variety of colors. This will nicely supplement my D&G shirts and the few Geoffry bean I have. I can wear the D&G with nice jeans, and the MXs look nice with jeans as well.

Not too many good colors (unless you like pastels) in size medium a couple days ago at Del Amo Mall in Torrance, CA. From recent experience, the 1MX shirts don't maintain easily/well with machine washing.

Just bought 3 shirts. Black, Darkish Red and Blue (aquamarinish). The Blue one rung up for $5.99 :D
Don't know why, but it's a good deal :D

I really need to make a trip out there and load up on some more $19.99 shirts even though I don't really need any right now...

damnit, just went to one and the shirts were buy 1, get 1 for $30... i'm not paying $40/shirt when they were $20/shirt last week. maybe it was just that location.

They're good shirts, I have 3. Also check out Alfani Fitted shirts at Macy's.

Here is my opinion on the 1MX shirts: I've worn more this summer than in my entire life thus far. I wear em to work, and then get them laundered and pressed at a dry cleaners. Well, I decided to wash one myself and dry it on low, and the dye started to fade away and it revealed an orangeish color around the collar.

I went to take it back and she said that you really aren't supposed to wash them yourself. A lot of Express clothes seem this way - they don't really hold up well, and a large number of their clothes are dry clean only, and I think that's a sign of shoddy fabrics and dyes. I can buy a kenneth cole pair of pants, a pair of their producers, and I can wash/dry the kenneth coles on my own but I can't the Express ones because they shrink/fade really fast.

I think I might start looking into some other brands, most of what I wear now is Express and I do seem to notice a trend that they don't hold up as well.

They did, but she told me this happens when you dry them yourself. The tag says wash cold/dry low, and even when you do that the collars and wrists WILL fade to an orangeish.

Yah, these shirts eventually fade out at the collar for me as well. I really like the shirts though and have thought about just getting some and making sure to only dry clean them.

But hell, it's still worth getting the plain white shirts when they have the $20 sales regardless.

Well, I can say that their shirts do fade over time, but not any worse than any other brand. I've come to realize that dress shirts have to be dry cleaned if you want them to maintain their original colors. I've attempted to wash D&G, Express, Geoffrey Bean, and Nautica. They will all fade when dried in a dryer. Using Woolite and letting them hang dry will significantly reduce the amount of fading. The question is why do this when you can get a shirt dry cleaned for under a buck? It isn't worth the hassle for me to do it or buy starch, Woolite, etc. I have Express Jeans and shirts that are years old and have held up well. The only company I've had to consistently break on me is American Eagle and Old Navy. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope I don't have any of your problems.

I put them in a one of those knit wash bags for delicate things and I find that it helps keep the fading down, along with hanging it to dry.

Express jeans do hold up pretty well, I admit. Then again, they're denim too, a much more durable fabric. Unfortunately up in the northeast here I can't find a place that will do em for less than $1.75 each, which ends up bein about ten bucks a week or something. Still, not bad. But don't think you can do it out of 'convenience' because they're still harmful.
