Xerox Man: Okay, as far as I know that was the 3rd from the end. Now, everybody who hasn't seen the show yet and plans to, back away from this thread now.
SPOILER AHEAD. DANGER, WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!
Last episode: The 58th squadron is sent down to a Chig prison camp to rescue the Tellus and Vesta colonists held there (including Kylen Celina). At the same time, an ambassador from the Chigs meets McQueen and the founder of Aerotech (name slips my mind now) to discuss a possible peace treaty. Apparently the aliens were sending out warning signals about colonizing "their" region of space, but the messages were ignored by this founder guy. The ambassador believes the war and the lives lost on both sides is solely his fault, and activates a suicide bomb, killing the founder of Aerotech, injuring McQueen and killing the ambassador himself.
I think this means: No peace anytime soon.
Meanwhile the 58ths are having one hell of a time trying to get away from the prison planet. They're flying heavy personnel carriers and not their own Hammerheads, so this is no walk in the park...basically, Shane detaches her portion of the carrier and lays down covering fire for the retreating forces, but is pulled down by the gravity of the planet (bye Shane). Vanessa, who I thought as the poorest fighter of the bunch, is forced to eject and is cast adrift in a escape pod before an alien fighter zeroes in and picks her off (bye Vanessa). Taking heavy damage, Wang, who has been manning the turret on the HPC, ejects it and himself also in order to defend the retreat (bye Wang). Only Coop, West and Kylen make it out of there. Damn.
There's actually one more episode but I think it was just played out of order. Everybody is alive once again and McQueen goes after that new, indestructible Chig fighter. Guess who wins - a return to the heroes-always-prosper TV ideal. I thought it was indestructible?!
Well, it was one hell of a show. Loved the CGI, grit and mood of the show throughout. Typical of Fox to cancel a show truly worth appreciating.
