Because reports are that that is where backdoors are implemented, coupled with the fact that intel's CEO was on Obama's technical advisory board makes a compelling and suspicious case for that possibility.
Technological, Agricultural and Medical corporations are required to cooperate with governments whether they want it or not. I'm sure if you would had company that would work on consumer electronics, probably robotics or some other research/development the men in black would knock on your door really fast.
Intel itself can't be found guilty even proven to be doing something like this, for what they would use the backdoors? To look at your porn?

Either way the degedration of society is slowly appearing, what people protest and try to resolve? Stupid stuff no one needs - public surveilance, gay marriages, gun laws...etc

But poverty, economy, job market, energy and property prices, aging infrastructure etc which are crucial to our basic functioning are forgotten in the retarded name of freedom of speech(what the hell is that anyway?).

A spokesperson for Intel says there’s “no basis for these highly speculative claims” that the US National Security Agency may embed “back doors” inside chips produced by Intel and AMD
Sounds about right...TRUE. What if only one manufacturer implemented backdoor in the hardware?

Well...FALSE. One word changed the logic outcome of the sentence.
From what angle will you are approaching the issue... Intel CEO being technical advisor for Obama is always fishy at the very least.

the OP has a legitimate question and the topic is very relevant to this particular subforum... this is a CPU hardware subforum is it not? the question is about the possibili of a hard wired backdoor

It needs to be said that the fanboism and schillism and false outrage over the very existence of this thread is extremely pathetic.

OP becomes less legitimate when he misrepresents information to further his viewpoint. There are no reports that there are hardware backdoors, so for him to be intellectually dishonest just to try and further his pretty transparent agenda is offputting. I don't get the impression he came here seeking an open discussion...

Your proof that anything is false would be what?

*edit- And yes, I see that you emboldened the word 'or' above.

Absolutely. I think it's extremely naive to think Intel and lots of other companies are not involved/pressured into this. The blind fanboism is ridiculous. And this coming from someone who just built an Intel based machine.

You don't seem to understand the concept of a question. Evidence of what, that Otellini was on Obama's technical advisory board? That coupled with the NSA debacle and reports of NSA hardware implementations is the premise of the thread.
