What Rez Do You Run Your 19" CRT At?

I have a Samsung 900NF, and I've always ran it at 16x12@85Hz. Last night I took a close look at it and realized it looked like sh!t. Text just wasn't that sharpe, so I swithced to 12x10@100Hz and it looks a lot better. Oh, and I run a ATI 9800Pro.

Just wondering what everyone runs their 19" at, and if they noticed similar lack of crisp text at 16x12.

1600x1200 @ 75Hz

run both my 19in CRTS at that. Dual mon KDS XF9E and a Phillips 109B4

Run them on a GF4 TI4600 and/or a Matrox G550

text is fine

16x12@85Hz
Don't remember really having tried lower, it's fine as it is, might be better lower, but I like the real estate.

I think if I went for anything it would be 1400x1050 custom res.

1280x960 @ 100Hz on my Hitachi and 1280x960 @ 75Hz (85 causes interference with the Hitachi) on my Viewsonic. 1280x1024 isn't a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is what normal monitors are, so images appear wider than they are.

1280x1024 for my 19"s (both CRT and LCD) and 1600x1200 for my 21"s. Anything over 1280x1024 on something as small as a 19" CRT looks poor to me.

1024x768 @ 85 Hz on my Viewsonic A70
1280x960 @ 100 Hz on my Viewsonic P95F+B
1280x960 @100 Hz and sometimes 1600x1200 @ 85 Hz (if I'm using Visual Studio .Net) on my Sony G420S

Don't understand how the fsck someone runs 1280x1024 without noticing its uglaaay wide 😛

Which video card are you using? Make sure you have the latest drivers (or at least a known stable version that you like). My Ti4200 has no problem doing 1280x960.

While 1280x960 is the correct ratio, it's not always available. Even if it is, the monitor itself may not support it. My old CTX 19" wouldn't do 1280x960, even if Windows was set to it.
