Three 30" displays!!!!?? Pics or shens!

Sorry, but that's at work, and taking pictures of things like that would get me canned.

They are powered by two 7900GTXs, one has the middle display, and the second does the outer ones.

It kinda hurts to go home to 2405FPWs and 2005FPWs.

Why does it need to be 3 30" LCDs?

2560x1600 is perfectly readable on my $169 19" CRT. A bit painful, however, at only 64Hz.
The highest I can set the video card is 3840x1600, which is not so readable on this monitor.

You have a widescreen 19" CRT?

I've never seen a CRT in my entire life capable of 2560x1600.

Some of these resolutions seem too high to be able to read text and possibly discern icons. Do you run modified icon and font sizes at these resolutions?

Or 3840x1600. Shens, ban, horsecrap, etc.

My work desktop runs 1280x1024, but my company notebook si running 1680x1050.

At home, I believe my machines are both running 1280x1024, also.

yes.

The average human can discern details 1/3 the size of the pixels in each direction of the highest dot pitch screens out there, excluding the new high density LCDs that are small enough for a phone, yet do 640x480.

Many 19" and most (nearly all) 21" CRTs will do 2560x1600, it just isn't a mode available by default on most video cards, you have to add it as a custom mode in powerstrip or similar utility. The required horizontal scan rate for 1670 rows (extra 70 is for refresh) at 64Hz is 107kHz. at 60Hz you only need 100kHz hsync. How clear the text is at that resolution on your particular CRT is another issue.

LG 915FT+ and ViewSonic P90f both have a hsync range up to 110kHz to name a few.

Can you find a website proving this, because I sure as hell can't find anything. I see 2048x1536, but not 2560x1600, which is widescreen, BTW.
