If you need 1024x768 on a 21" monitor in order to read comfortably, you're already blind :p

I always kept my 21" on 1600x1200, 85Hz. Never had any eyestrain.

1280x1024 on 22'' diamondtron. personally i dont feel lower res has anything to do with going blind provided you have a good enough system. i just feel most comfortable with that size of screen, it was a natural place to go from 1152@864 on 19'' for years.

800x600 on 24" widescreen to take this (so you can see how silly it looks) Good for solitaire though - the cards are almost life size.

Normally running 1920x1200.

Cheers!

That's because you're used to a resolution that's not a "true" resolution. 640x480 multiplies to various other resolutions. x2 would be 1280x960, not 1280x1024. So what your eyes are used to is something that's basically already warping the way things are "supposed" to look. 1600x1200 is (640x480)x2.5. :)

12x9 on a 19" crt. I had 16x12 for a while but it was a tad too much eyestrain for my tastes.

sweet, I'm the only vote for 640x480 :) I'm at home right now on my old K6 233 with a 14" monitor, so 640 it is. My computer back at college runs 1280x960 though

u need to know that u are polling an audience that is involved with technology so the poll is going to be skewed towards higher resolutions

I wonder how many people here know to increase their dpi setting in advanced display properties to match their monitors when they're using very high or low resolutions, so everything doesn't look too small or too big...

I used 4096x1536 when I had dual21"...
I had to use large in order for it to be legible though.
3200x1200 was fine with regular 96dpi
