640x480 is just too low a resolution to assume. I normally do it for 1024x768, but you should do 800x600 if you want to be safe.

Almost all online store assume designs with 1024x768 in mind I think.

Dual display:

Primary = 1792 x 1344 on IBM-P260 21" CRT
Secondary = 1600 x 1200 @ DELL P90 19" CRT

According to my web site's logs, here is the resolution (in order of greater to less)
1024x768
800x600
1280x1024
1152x864
1600x1200

Each of the 3 monitors on this desk run at 1600x1200 ... my windows desktop is 3200x1200 and my linux desktop is 1600x1200

1152x864 usually, just stepped up to 1280x960 the other day.

This is on a tiny 15". I think the 60hz is killing my eyes :(

Those who use 1280x1024 on non-LCD screens should be shot :D
