What Is A Freethinker?

free-think-er n. A person who forms opinions about religion on the basis of reason, independently of tradition, authority, or established belief. Freethinkers include atheists, agnostics and rationalists.
No one can be a freethinker who demands conformity to a bible, creed, or messiah. To the freethinker, revelation and faith are invalid, and orthodoxy is no guarantee of truth.

You see a person who is a free thinker couldn't believe in a god, because theri is not rational reason too. Faith in a diety goes against what a free thinker is, because it is not based on logic or rationality.

I disagree. All free thinkers are athiest. If you follow any diety then you are not a free thinker.

You should rephrase the statement from "All free thinkers are atheists" to "All atheists are free thinkers."

Firstly it's important to understand that "free thinker" is a completely invented term. Secondly, I don't think it's necessarily true that it's impossible to conclude there is a god based purely on rational and reasoned thought.

Also, I know people are talking shit when they use the word "logic" in a conversation like this - go back to school and learn what logic is, because there's no reason you couldn't logically believe in god.

LOL @ atheism being a "free thinker"

I don't get paid for my thinking.
So my thinking is sans-pay. I'm a freelanced thinker with a slight chance of getting paid one day for my thoughts.

So I'm a free thinker.

Dammit, I scanned the list too fast and didn't see (Atheist), so voted Other. Definitely Atheist.

Also, Thank God there are mostly Atheists here...
