I'd say it's just typical city life. Lot of drugs in and out of Toledo.

Now, not sure how often they check wooded areas. But I do know my uncle has found evidence of the most retarded people, because he has found weed on multiple occasions planted somewhere in his farm fields (outside of Findlay).

Where I live we see those plants a lot.
Its fairly common in the country and rural areas to find a few plants every now and then. There was a large crackdown a few weeks back where they went through the area pulling up all they could find. What made me laugh is the news showed them piling them on a huge bon fire and burning them , with all the officers standing around.

About a week after the crackdown I saw more down towards the river.

They used to. I will admit, I haven't seen nearly as many chopper flights with searchlights since gas has gone up. So they probably did do random searches, but not nearly as often these days.

Today I decided to go visit the patch again, and this time the grower was there. I gathered up the courage to approach him and start questioning. We had a little talk and he was telling me all these facts about growing. Eventually I confront him with the legality standpoint, and if he could give me a reason why I shouldn't call the police right now. He replied with "alls i got iz dis joint, it's all ya need". I figured that after all the research I'd done I'd decided that i didn't believe it to be very dangerous. So with him I smoked the joint. Now we have an agreement where I get 10% of the crop to let him use my land. Lucky me!

The authorities aren't going to press charges on you if you notify them you found pot growing in the woods on your property. Do you honestly think they'd assume you were stupid enough to plant marijuana in the wild, then call the police on yourself? They'll show up, confiscate it and burn it.

My uncle works for the forestry department in Northern California. A few years back he was working some trails around Arcata / Humboldt County and he came across a large growth of marijuana. He had his team pull it all out, throw it in a pile and make a bonfire. I believe his exact words were "there were some happy campers there that night..."

What if the person that planted the cannabis finds them missing and comes to my house to get reparations for what has been done. I'm not willing to risk bodily harm over this. Do the police offer protection from this sort of thing?

how do you know he won't turn you in & try to get your land
in an asset forfeiture case ?

the Fed. gov. doesn't always go after the grower, they go after
the person with assets. in this case, it sounds like that's you.

i wouldn't trust the guy. the "vibe might be completely right"
