What percent of your body weight can you bench press?

example:

I weigh 152 pounds, and can bench 220.

152/100 = 220/x

x = (220*100)/152

x = ~145%

I understand that there are many other workouts that could be tallied instead of benching, feel free to list your stats, I just merely chose one common one that more people would likely know.

The reason I ranked by percentage is the accuracy factor; i.e. I am a light weight, and would expect someone that weighs 250+ pounds to have a much easier time putting up higher weights.

You get the idea, I am just curious :)

My best was 310 lbs x 2 when I was 212 lbs. I doubt I can bench 250 lbs now.

I'm 185 lbs...coulds bench about 225-245 if I went in the gym right now. I used to do 285+

I stopped lifting regularly about 2 years ago...i just don't care about being "cut" anymore (i used to be). I'm still in shape...I play soccer or basketball a couple times a week but that is it.

Ha.. I am 5'8"-9", so 152 pounds is fairly normal, but yea i have little body fat. And a little off topic, but 3 years ago I was 190 and completely out of shape... then I realized a change was necessary.

Earlier in the summer, before the combination of going on vacation and being sick for a month's time during which I didn't work out, I could put up 215 x 4, 225 x 2... I am working on getting back up there, slow and steady.

I weigh 210 and my max bench is somehere around 335.

How long have you guys been lifting?

I started seriously lifting about 3 years ago. At that time I was barely able to do 125 for reps. I had really let myself go. (Curiously enough, I weighed about 210 when I started)

But I have lifted on and off since I was in middle school.

BTW, I workout 4 days a week. My chest is worked one day a week.

I'm ~5'8" as well... though I weigh ~180. :eek:

I've started going back to the gym, two years ago or so I was down to 150. Eating right, lots of excersize, feeling good. I remember feeling scrawny though. Like you get to that point and you just don't have any weight to throw around. Weird when you're used to having 30 extra pounds behind ya...

I've got a meidum sized frame, I'm shooting for 155 to 165. I could probably put up 160 right now. Maybe I should focus on getting into the 200 club.

Do you take protein suppliments?

I didn't really approach the weight loss thing from completely the right direction. First, I just did aerobic exercise with a healthy diet, and got myself down to 145 pounds, at which point I felt rather scrawny. Once I started lifting, though, I slowly gained the weight back, but as muscle. Earlier in the summer before a month off of lifting, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I was 155 pounds, which is where I want to get back to.

Yes, I currently use whey protien, 2-3 scoops a day depending on what workouts I am going to do. I also eat like 8 eggs (only the whites, mind you - the 'bad' stuff is in the yolk) ~5 times a week.

3 times a week (tues, thurs, satur). I have 2 workout routines on a rotation covering different parts. so in one week i'll do routine A twice, and B once, then the next week i'll do B twice and A once. (it's really just A, B, A, B, A, B...). anyhow:

Weight: 144lbs (*edit* 5' 5", but i think i lose about 1/2" throughout the day :eek: )
Normal benching workout: either 85lbs each arm dumbells, or 205lbs bench (depending if i have a spotter)
3 sets, 6-7 reps
Max bench: ~250-260lbs (~173% body weight?)
