What PC game has the best soundtrack?

for one soundtrack made completely for the game, I'd say a tie between Unreal and Deus Ex. Something about Unreal makes it more intrigueing than 90% of fps's out there.

Well, as far as original game music goes, I think Outcast (not Jedi Outcast, but the older voxel graphics game) beats everything hands down. The score itself is really good for starters, and on top of that it is played by a professional orchestra, which elevates it far beyond anything I have heard in a game so far (Star Wars games don't count, they mostly recycle film music).

The Dig also has an great soundtrack. A mixture of classical and ambient, with some variations on actual classical pieces. It really enhanced the atmosphere of the game.

I agree with a previous poster that Command & Conquer had some excellent original songs.

Whoa, iTunes just started playing one of the songs from The Dig as I was typing this!

31st Century and Ghost Bear's Legacy had a cool thematic element to it, while the kick ass Mercenaries added Heavy Metal!!!!!

Quake 2 sound track rocked! awesome rock music to get ya goin. I still listen to it just to bring back the memory of Glide rendering and AWE64 music on a P166 damn, those were the days!
