What part of 3DMark2001 did you guys like ...

When I first saw the nature scene I just about wet my pants. Then I saw the Matrix scene and did wet my pants. The detail on the guy is incredible.....the leather overcoat looks real!

i had to change my pants after watching the nature scene....i had to do my laundry after watching the second dragon scene.

when i can see it changing resolutions between each test....

that part is so cool...also, the falcon nw ad is pretty damn cool..

and the music - it's the best i've heard...i'm trying to extract the audio so that i can burn it onto a cd and listen to it everywhere...

and finally, the tests that say "skipped, no support in hardware" (or something like that)...i.e. the nature test...it doesn't given an explanation - this is the part i like....just tells me it skipped it...cool

all round, well worth the hype.

update: i thoroughly enjoyed the inability to submit my results to the online browser, or its inaccessibility whatsoever....AWESOME!

The nature scene is nice. The trees are GREAT!!, though the rocks and stream could use some work.

I really liked the Lobby scene. 😉

Can't wait to get home and see it on my G400. 😀

I can't run the nature benchmarks test, it states no hardware support, and for another test also (I think DOT3). It also defaults to 60Hz, which it doesn?t do in UT. It also reports my processor as AMD 1.17GHz.

My card is lacking I admit, may be upgrading to a Geforce sooner then I though! Other then that I like the new bench, and the new demo.

I can't comment on the Nature benchmark as that was skipped due to lacking hardware support.
The only benchmark in it that I really like is the "Matrix style" bench, that detail in that was fantastic, I loved that benchmark!
If only we could see games like that!
Besides that I don't find anything too interesting, and I have a feeling that within a year we are going to see video card and processors capable of getting ridiculous scores in 3DM2K1 just as has become the case in 3DM2K. I was hoping that it would be a bit harder on modern processor/video card combinations to ensure a longer life-span for 3DMark2001.

Edit: Just saw the Nature scene, DAMN Impressive!
Still not as good as the "Matrix style scene" in the demo though.

If only there were games out there that looked that nice it might actually make me inclined to get something better than this puny Voodoo3.

You guys that can't run the Nature benchmark....

Run the DEMO. You'll get to see it there.

I couldn't run the Nature bench on either my TNT2M64 or GeForce256 here at work either.

The end, that damn game is so boring after watching it 10,000 times. It was really awesome initially when I went from a pci tnt2 to a geforce but then it was overkill.

they can, and will..

they make it playable for the vast majority of people...u think many people would buy the game if the engine was so hardcore that it averaged 10fps on most computers?...

hence the reason all 3d games give optiosn to disable performance hindering features...

also, i think that demos was a hell of a lot easier to make than actually coding a game for human interaction...i wouldn't know, but i'd imagine...

The best part is that interactive little game you play & blow up 2 alien ships.🙂

But you need to have a registered version to unlock that.😉

for a second I thought the nature scene was real... OMG. When are games gonna look that good???
