Nature part. Even chugging at 2fps on my Voodoo3, it was breathtaking. It looks like professional rendered CG, the kind that takes hours to render a frame...

I like the part where it locked up until I changed drivers from 6.49 to 10.80 and again when the game demo refused to load and locked up the first time around.

Buggy Piece of Shi!

No problems with 3Dmark2000.

You guys have to realize that it took about a year to develop this bm. The reason the graphics are so wonderful is because they basically didnt have to do much else. Spending a year on a few graphics scenes will always look great. It'll be a while before we get to that point in actual gameplay.

i liked the DEMO more than anything i think, the awesome music and SE7EN reminiscent intro was simply awesome. the GEISS effects were damn nice as well 😉 but when it showed the Earth shot and zoomed in to the nature scenes with the trees i was blown away, even the matrix scene didn't impress me as much as that did.

but the best part i think was the quickie game- for those who can't play it you get to play the demo of the truck w/ missile launchers on the back blowing up alien spaceships (the scene from terminator, yup 🙂 ) that was shown in one of the demos. it's actually quite playable, DAMN if that was a real game i'd seriously have a fat hole in my pocket 🙂

added note: for the soundtrack to the DEMO look under your \3DMark2001\music\ dir, it's just an mp3 you can burn straight to CD.

Ok, I can't run the nature thing, says no hardware support. But what cards CAN run it? I have a Geforce2 MX card (hercules).

You can run it if you run the demo. It won't let me run the nature benchmark w/ my Radeon card. Maybe it's a Win2k issue . . .

I would like to see which part i like best but i can't even install the stupid tihng. spent 2 hours downoading it and it wont install on either ME or 2000 because it can't create direct3d or some BS. prolly directx8 that it also forced me to download messed everything up.
