great is an understatement

I never enjoyed Black Sabbath because of ozzy osbourne.
I like the band a lot better now after listening to Ronnie James Dio.

IMHO:
There is a few magnitudes of difference between the late Ronnie James Dio and Ozzy Osbourne.
Ronnie James Dio has that "something" that made him stand out in his singing and performing.
Ozzy Osbourne does not have that. He is just an empty shell needing and using tricks. Venting what ever seems to be the issue...
But of course, i just only viewed a few live performances for comparisons.
I am very much a noob.

my comment was mostly aimed at Dio, so i agree with you, Dio had a voice and a presence that i doubt we will ever see again
