if she's as brain dead as everyone says, the intellectual heavyweights of the democratic congress will run circles around her administration.

Like Mike Moore said, Obama isn?t running against Mccain, Obama is running against stupidity.

This is grossly patronizing. And yet, it seems very reasonable. It is as good an explanation as any for why he chose her.

Certainly more plausible than saying she would make a good VP.

I think an hour is easily enough time to be intoxicated by a hotty 25-30 years ones junior and it really is quite plausible.

hack answer: lolol McCain made a gimmick soccer mom choice.

Yes-sirree-Bob. McCain is quite a "maverick". Instead of behaving like a real maverick and choosing who he wanted he caved in to pressure. This You Tube song illustrates that some.

Oh McCain song

Palin is not stupid by any means, she knows how to play a crowd, deliver those snappy one liners, and she could have been an unmitigated GOP asset, except she does not when to shut up when she does not know something. Its appalling bad when Palin is less informed by than the average person regarding national issues. She seems to lack an analytical mind or intellectual curiosity, that tends to lead to a person who does not like thinking, which leads to a tendency to unquestioning adopt ideas, and finally to a person who has a hodge podge of beliefs that are not internally consistent with each other, and worse yet, grate like chalk on a blackboard with the average person a few times in any appearance. And Sarah Palin is just tone deaf regarding those chalk moments, if the ideas are good enough for her, should not they be for good for everyone?

Don't you want to have a pregnant, prolific president who likes to squeeze out pups and give them funny names? Don't you think it would be neat if we had a baby named Zamboni growing up in the White House alongside Trigg?

Would you put a subject that indicates what the thread subject is, like 'How can Republicans defend Sarah Palin'?

Let me get this straight...

...McCain chose Palin because...deep down...he wanted to get in her pants?

Wouldn't that make for a great scandal? The president banging the VP in the Oval Orafice?

Yes yes yes... Its a liberally biased forum, listening to liberally biased news from the liberal media. Its all made up and no merit to anything. Palin really is smart and well versed in politics, and world affairs.

Happy now?

Come one, even alot of republicans are waking up to see she is a nitwit and its a scary thought, having her as president. McCain I can live with (I am 100% sure if elected, he goes back to being the moderate pain in the ass he has been his whole carreer and goes right back to pissing off the ultra conservatives). But Palin is even more ignorant than Bush, if thats possible. We see where that got us...

I know she's busy with her kids, Wedlock and Triscuit, but if she suddenly chickened out, McCain could quickly substitute Joe the Plumber or Joe the Lieberman and achieve the same result.

Actually, Palin could have been an awesome choice for McCain. But sadly, Palin just has a compulsion to open mouth, and insert foot, far too often. She is somewhat like Biden, except you is like Biden on steroids
and without an iota of brains.

And polling analysis has shown it, Palin is a net liability. Her past record has hurt Palin some, but the real damage is her continuing tendency to open mouth and insert foot.
