2x el cheapo speakers I got with my el cheapo stereo from target 5 years ago
1x decent sony boombox, connected to the reciever for use as a CD player. A discman would do just as well, but mine is broken.
Let me tell you, the bass that reciever will make is incredible. We are talking entire house shaking bass. And the looks of the 70's equipment totally rocks. Its all wood (real!) and polished metal, with big heavy knobs and switches you have to exert yourself to throw. My reciever, in other words, could beat up your reciever. When you open this baby up (i had to replace the volumn potentiometer), you see that it actually has a huge string pulley system inside of it! the tuning knob goes to a pulley, which splits, one strand goes parallel to the front of the unit and drags the frequency indicator back and forth, then goes through some pulleys back to the antenna where it actually changes the frequency, and then comes back around to the knob. And all this selector knobs use rack-and-pinion setups to do their business. Its absolutely fabulous!
edit: The only thing I would change is the CD player. I want one of those 100 disc changers or something. I might be able to buy one off my great aunt who had a nice stereo (audiophile) but got a bose acoustic wave thingy. I think she has one collecting dust.
